Mountain View from the Pasture
This was a great campsite! The view in the valley is amazing. The site itself is effectively in a pasture, but Shawn has put together a small fire pit (ring of rocks) for us to use. He helped us get settled and allowed us to park our car in front of the house when we were worried about rain in the forecast (we didn’t have four whee drive so we were concerned about getting stuck). Overall a great experience!

Mountain View from the Pasture
This site was perfect! We camped here with three small children after hiking Grayson Highlands. Shawn’s communication was great and the view was incredible.

God’s country, Serenity
Shawn is a great host, gracious and very friendly, very helpful. His site is currently for Boondocking, very close to nature, what we love. Shawn went the extra mile to build us a fireplace and supply wood. He also went to his home then made a special trip to provide us mapquest directions to the next leg of our adventure. We fell asleep with the babbling river and woke with his roosters crow and distant cow mooing! The view of the Appalachian mountain range is astounding. We didn’t miss WiFi , and though we would love electricity and water...we shall return for the beautiful setting. Thank you, Shawn!

Lovely place to find some quiet!
Lazy Days on the Southern Fork is a beautiful place to get away from it all. The views of the valley with its lovely green grass and red barns is beautiful. Add to that the surrounding mountain views, and you have an ideal spot! There was one other group there at the same time. We enjoyed saying hello and introducing ourselves, but other than that, we were so far apart we couldn't hear each other and could barely see each other. There's plenty of space! We enjoyed listening to the stream and stargazing. Note that there is no shade, so you may be hot in the summer months. The evenings were cool, even in early September. Shawn was a gracious host. He got a river map for us, so we could go kayaking (had a great time on the New River), and he recommended some excellent hikes in/near Grayson Highlands SP.

Nice setting. Quite place. The grass was long and wish it was mowed over a wider area (he did ask how much to mow, but wished we asked for a larger area). He was very welcoming and accommodating before we arrived and responsive to texts. However upon arrival wasn’t very welcoming (not sure it was the same guy). Close to beautiful state parks and a great location. Situating in a cute rural setting.
