Josh is the host of the Loudoun Campout property. We only met him briefly but he’s a really friendly guy who was eager and happy to have us out there. He’s got a nice lawn to pitch a tent or park your van or RV on. He’s also got some mature trees that offer shade which is great if you plan on visiting in the summer months. The area surrounding his property is fields; when we visited there was hay that was just about to be baled. It makes for a quiet and private camping experience.
Located in Lovettsville, Virginia, this property is located about 4 and a half miles from a public boat ramp that gives you access to the Potomac River. Also not too far is Point of Rocks which is a spot on the C & O canal which a lot of people enjoy hiking and biking on.
If you’re just passing through or looking for a base camp that gives you great access to the river, we recommend you give this one a look!

Josh has a large place that is great for camping! We enjoyed the stay, stoked a fire up in the fire pit, watched thousands of fireflies dance across the meadow, and enjoyed the outdoor shower set up. Was a great stay!
Josh's place is a really big farm, with loads of space for camping. Lovely and peaceful place - would recommend!
Josh really went above and beyond by staying up until 1am to welcome us to the property and show us around. His place is quiet, peaceful and we had a great night's rest here. Would definitely recommend and return next time we are in the area!
What a wonderful retreat from the noises of everyday life. There were beautiful field and wooded sites, but we chose a river bottom site with hiking trails all around.
After meeting Josh(so friendly) and learning that 1700(!!!) reenactors had camped out just days before, we drove our van down to the creek bed. The only sign of use were the small traces of camp fires; no cans or cigarette butts, just unspoiled, wooded and accessible site after site.
Actually, “sites” is misleading. Picture a wide trail through the woods where you are free to pull up and setup camp anywhere you please.
We cannot wait to return to listen to the wind through the trees, stare at the moon and cook over a campfire.

Really magical place with lots of options for places to stay. Josh was an incredible host and so helpful.
Host was very friendly and helpful. Property was beautiful and well-maintained with clean toilet and filtered water available. Would definitely recommend.
We had the best time ver. Also it was very spacious and it was very clean and it was very peaceful location am just outside the city of Lovettsville the people of Lovettsville are very loving and kind and Josh the owner was very helpful and very knowledgeable and very caring towards us to help us out we had a great stay definitely highly recommend it.

We drove onto the property and were greeted by Josh next to his house. He showed us the parking location and gave us a map of the property, which was 100 acres, and said that we can take a look around and set up wherever we want. He has 2 streams on the property, one closer to the parking location and a larger one about 1/3 of a mile across the property. We decided to take the hike to the further stream (which can also be accessed with offroad vehicles). It was extremely private and unspoiled by development. 11/10 will definitely be returning.
