Places to see near Eva O.’s Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Eva's property and hospitality were above and beyond our expectations! Upon arrival, she walked us around the paths on her land, showed us the outdoor shower and restroom, and recommended the perfect spot to pitch our tent.
She shared homemade soup and rolls with us, and we spent the evening sitting by the creek, then under the old oak tree. We had a great, quiet night's sleep, and Eva brought out a warm danish in the morning before our departure.
There is plenty to do on the property, and the town of Scottsville is just around the corner. We will definitely be staying here again, and can't recommend it enough as a quick getaway from anywhere in Virginia.
The best camping experience!
Eva’s land and accommodations are some of the best you fill find on Hipcamp! Eva is a fantastic host. She welcomed us with maps and activities and homemade bread. The site has a warm shower, a bathroom, a big fridge, a hammock, a coffee maker, running water, fire pits, outlets, umbrellas, and a few tables. And if something you need is not at the campsite upon arrival, Eva will go out of your way to help you feel at ease. Humpback Rock, Crabtree Falls, Carter Mountain, and Charlottesville are all just over an hour away. This is the best site to be out in nature with many accommodations to help you feel right at home.
This was our first Hipcamp experience and it was wonderful! Eva was so kind and made sure we were comfortable and knew where everything was! The field was beautiful! The outhouse clean! She had a little shed which had a coffee maker, refrigerator and stools! What a wonderful surprise! We will definitely return! Thank you Eva!
Beautiful views and very relaxing
Eva was so sweet and kind made us feel right at home. Our dogs enjoyed themselves too. It was a beautiful property and very relaxing. It was a nice to get away and relax and Eva property was perfect. It was close to wineries, Bold Rock Cidery and much more. I highly recommend this place we will definitely be back.
This was our first Hipcamp experience and we highly recommend Eva and Starry Night Meadows. Very much appreciate her hospitality and flexibility. Am looking forward to the next time we visit!
Eva was an incredible hostess. Her property is beautiful and just as described. From the initial greeting she made us feel welcomed. There is plenty of room between sites with all the amenities you could need.
We had a fabulous stay and can’t wait to return.
Our stay with Eva was perfect. She’s so friendly and makes you feel more than welcome. The outdoor shower and the bathroom are clean, and she provides more than enough to make you feel comfortable. Her property is stunning. Our only regret is staying only two nights. Her dogs are sweet and if you’re up for it, the cows in the neighbors yard next-door are extremely friendly and gentle, too. One of them loves head rubs (hint hint) and has such a wonderful personality, he may convince you not to eat meat anymore. Overall, we loved our stay and cant wait to come back. Thanks, Eva!
Relaxing and comfortable!
This was our first Hipcamp experience and Eva did not let us down. She is a terrific host and looked out for us as if we were visiting friends/family. She was super accommodating to our requests and even came to check on us when the weather looked like it was going to rain. She even gave us homemade bread on our arrival and some fresh vegetables from her garden. We shared the camping section of her property with two other very nice couples. The area is fenced off, making it dog friendly. We had access to well water, and a very efficient outdoor shower. Access to downtown Scottsville is only minutes away, where you can find restaurants, a microbrewery, and activities on the James River. Overall, a super pleasant experience, and we will definitely visit again!
Amazing site! will def be back!
The site overlooks the tobacco fields and surrounding farmland, horses cows come right up to the fence. The site is surrounded by lush grasses and wildflowers making it feel like you're camping in a field of wildflowers.
Eva is a fantastic hosts who accommodates guests based on their own needs, we stayed with 3 other campers at the time and I watched her weave between welcoming newcomers and dropping off a jar of espresso to a distressed duo who'd forgotten to bring their own coffee. She is a wealth of information about what to do in the surrounding area, if you have any questions-don't hesitate to ask! And if you want a quiet evening to yourself (as we did), she'll show you the site and let you go on your merry way. As we checked out she even shared a fresh homemade danish with us-(a trick I'm guessing she saves for all newcomers) and it was the best treat I've ever eaten!
The site is beautiful, the pictures on HipCamp aren't just for show. There were fresh roses in the latrine every day!! It was the cleanest outdoor facility I've ever used. Site comes with a heated outdoor shower which was an absolute treat! Eva also has a back creek in a surrounded wooded area that campers can use to keep cool during the day. And the bar shed is a real thing, campers have access to a fridge, running water, coffee pot (stocked with tea and sugar cubes) and there is a well stocked bar inside that definitely beat out the 6 pack we brought.
It was truly a fantastic experience and I can't wait to go back! Sites like this are why we stay at HipCamps.
