Pitch your tent in a quiet wooded campsite alongside a small creek or next to a historic barn. Enjoy 309 acres of organic, regeneratively grazed farmland with plenty of trails to explore. Grass-fed beef and lamb, and free-range chickens and ducks are all raised on site. A fire pit with grill is available and meat is available for purchase.

Water is available at several spots at the farm.  And there is an outdoor hot shower and port-o-potty at the newly built horse barn.

We love having campers and are happy to answer questions and direct you around the farm so that you can see all that our farm has to offer.

The site is a 20-minute walk from the house and you will have complete privacy. We are 3 miles from the town of Louisa, which has a few great restaurants and Floozie's Pie Shop. 30 minutes to Lake Anna State Park, 40 minutes from Charlottesville and 1 hour from Richmond.

We had a great time at Dragonfly Farms! The campsite is perfectly secluded and easy to find. Due to rainy conditions it was a little hard to get down to the campsite, so I would suggest making sure you have an AWD vehicle if the weather is calling for rain.
The owner was easy to contact and responded in a timely fashion. Perfect location if you want to visit Lake Anna, and it's only a 10 min drive into the town of Louisa which had a grocery store, gas stations, and restaurants. We would definitely visit again!

We loved Dragonfly Farms! It was a beautiful spot and felt very isolated, which is what we wanted. It’s a short drive from the Shenandoah, several really cute towns, and some excellent trails. The farm animals were also a fun feature. Also, on site there is a fine hike along the creek to a small swimming area! Katherine is very friendly and helpful. She is just a call or text away for any concerns.

Completely secluded, well-maintained, and stocked with a pit/table/tinder. The hot shower was an incredible luxury, as was bottle feeding the two week-old lamb. Highly recommended!

DragonFly Farms is located approximately 10-minutes outside of Louisa and it is an active farm with horses, cattle and sheep. While we did not get to meet the owners face to face, Katharine (owner) could not have been more welcoming over the phone. She encouraged us to make ourselves at home and to walk around the 300-acre farm as we wished.

The farm is host to two separate campsites, aptly named #1 and #2. Site #1 is located up on a hill, on a flat area adjacent to a prototypical red barn you’d expect to see on a farm. There is also a spigot for potable water at the barn. We stayed at Site #2, which is situated down on the edge of a small brook/creek, and it had everything you would want at a drive-up campsite, including a picnic table for 4 adults and a fire pit with a metal ring and grill for cooking. The creek bed sits 4-5 feet below the campsite, and there was clear evidence of erosion from the heavy rain as of late; however, the ground was relatively flat and well-suited for tent camping. Firewood is provided onsite free of charge and there were left over logs from prior campers at the site when we arrived. Deadwood for kindling and dried grass can be found along the tree lines that abut the creek on both sides. Even with the heavy rain, starting a fire using matches and natural fuel was straightforward.

I would give this campsite high marks in all categories, especially solitude, which was an unexpected, albeit pleasant, surprise. We will surely go back again.

This site was wonderfully private and picturesque. Ask Katherine for a farm map! We loved our stay, she was wonderful to us and her kids, and there was a new adventure each day. One note: There was quite a bit of poison ivy so bring your pants.

Dragonfly Farms is just incredible. Katherine is easy to communicate with but not overly present. Both campsites are remote and well-kept. I stayed at site #1 this time. My favorite part of the campsite was seeing the moonglow over the fields at night. It wasn’t even a full moon, but the way the fields were bathed in a soft, silvery light was breathtaking! Additionally, the farm comes with some wonderful surprises. I was able to hug lambs, snuggle ducklings, pet a cat, and hang out with some beautiful horses! The entire experience was wonderfully calming. I haven’t felt so much peace in a long time. I’ve already shared Dragonfly Farms’s profile with friends, and will definitely be bringing my sweetie along next trip. Thank you for sharing your haven with the world, Katherine!
