Karl was very kind. Upon arrival he greeted us and let us know our camp site was going to be in front on the lake. To our dismay there was a huge 2 story brick house behind our camp site, and quite honestly it felt like we were camping in someone’s front yard. We asked if there was another area we could set up our site and he let us know that this was the only site he had at the time. The site offered zero shade in the 98 degree weather. However we were optimistic! We caught 3 bass in the lake while we were there and explored the fields and paths around us. It was really quite beautiful! The lights on the large house stayed on all night long and created quite a bit of light pollution, if the lights were off and we had other options as to where we could set up camp I’m certain it wouldn’t be a complaint at all! Thank
Dinwiddie Farms was a great find in my search for a last minute camping site over the weekend. Karl, the owner, met us at the camp site upon arrival and made sure that we were right at home on the tucked away land. We set up camp right next to the lake, which was completely filled with Bass and Perch (you could hear them jumping at night) and you even have access to the paddle boat if you’d like to fish! The camp site also included a gorgeous fire pit area right on the water. There is so much that Dinwiddie Farms has to offer and i can’t wait to go back and explore more
We decided to plan a late Labor Day weekend getaway. Our location was right by the lake. The ground was fairly level, but we put some fire work on some of our tires since we had a truck tent. We packed our own kayaks but he did have a small canoe you could use. The lake was larger than I thought. We didn’t catch anything but we kept hearing the fish jump in the morning. It was pretty chilly at night which we didn’t prepare for since it was so warm in the day. The stars were beautiful though! Overall, we enjoyed our time there.
