It's a beautiful area and spot! The only complaint is that it's a little pricey for tent camping but split between a group isn't too bad.

I definitely recommend the campground. The showers and bathrooms were clean. And the site was private and large. You are very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking trails. Being close to the brewery and restaurant was a huge added bonus! I can't wait to return to hear some live music from their stage and camp out again.
This campsite was perfect for what we were looking for. The grounds were really well maintained and had a good amount and of space between campsites. The bath house at this camp was great too. Automatic everything and clean.
It was nice being right on Devil Backbone’s property, but I didn’t like how close together the camp sites were. There’s no privacy at all. And there was a wedding going on in one of the houses one of the nights we were there. It was very loud until about 10 or 11pm. The views of the mountains were great but we didn’t really feel like we got away in nature since so many people were around. Also, the bathhouse is currently restricting one person in the bathroom at a time due to Covid. We ended up just not using it because the wait was so long.
I love this campground, it’s proximity to the brewery and the bathhouse is incredibly nice! I’ve been several times before, and I’ll definitely go again!
This site is far from the bathhouse, so expect a more rugged camping experience. My only “complaint” is at $50/night it’s pricey for a campsite with zero amenities. I was however very glad they opened up these new sites so that we were able to have a place to camp during a special event weekend we had in the area.

Overall we loved our stay! It rained off and on the whole weekend but we still had a blast. We loved being able to walk to the bath house and the close location of site #1 for fire wood. The sites are much more private then the regular campground areas. We particularly loved having our own little driveway. Our only disappointment was not being able to eat or drink at Devils Backbone. We were told they were booked out all weekend and that we couldn’t even wait for a table. We had the option to do a takeout order but decided to go elsewhere. Huge bummer because being able to walk back from having a couple drinks at the brewery is the reason we choose to camp here. I’d still recommend this Hipcamp but my advice is to make reservations I guess!
