#2 Meadow View
Scouts Camping at #2 Meadow View
I took 12 Boys scouts to the HipCamp Blackwater Birds & Bees Campground. The scouts thoroughly loved the #2 Meadow View site. Lots of room to spread out with a nice picnic area. The only cautionary thing about this site is - Watch out for the cactus in the field. There's lots to do at this camp from canoeing/kayaking, fishing, hiking, farm animals, bees and an awesome educational nature/foraging walk where Mike shows you what wild plants you can eat/not eat, etc. The camp store is open 24/7 and is stocked with lots of gifts, local honey & wines, etc. Thanks James for hosting another great Scout campout!

The Blackwater Bungalow
At the Bungalow
It is a beautiful place! We stayed at the Bungalow and it lovely. Their is a small outdoor kitchen with all the things you need to cook, and if you forget something, they have a little store across the pond to get what you need, from homemade wine and soap to cooking oil and cups. You can feed the goats and the ducks. We also went on the foraging plant walk. The guide was awesome and so knowledgeable and happy to share. We canât wait to go back when more is in bloom. Plus, the owner was nice enough to let his dog, Stanley, hang out with us and help us get the lay of the land. It was a great experience!!

The Blackwater Bungalow
This is a perfect stay. We really enjoyed the homemade wine and bird watching on the lake. The dogs loved the wide open space to explore. The amenities are great and there is so much to do, we look forward to returning!

Liked it so much I stayed some more
Everything! Extended twice! Private, quiet, peaceful. All the things I went looking for, and found it. Stayed for 9 days and throughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend.

#3 Park at the Pond
Peaceful Retreat
By the Pond was the perfect secluded spot for a weekend getaway. Owner dropped us off a map when we arrived. We ordered a bundle of wood and went for a walk about the property and down to the river. Stopped in to the store and always looking to support small buisness so purchased a camo trucker hat. Nice little 24 hour store in case you forgot something. Site is located near the restroom and even though the place was booked up, didn't really see anyone unless they were headed to store or the bathroom. We were car camping and it was perfect set up. We hung a hammock and enjoyed our evening and the peace and quite. Picnic table onsite and fire ring. If we are ever in the area again we will 100% stay here again and maybe try the other sites.

#3 Park at the Pond
I was met at the entrance by Jamesâs mother and father who shared stories about the wonderful work theyâve been doing to restore, native longleaf pine, bog plants, etc. They are so well informed and a joy to talk with. James came a bit later and dropped off Firewood and to check that everything was OK. I had the place to myself as itâs early in the year and a bit of rain forecast the week that I was here. The campsites are generally situated around the shores and upland areas that surround the old sandpit - which is now a lake - which is now home to many types of geese and birds. Wonderful sunrises from this campsite
