In addition to using this land as our camping/fishing get-a-way, it is also used for hay! Our 5th generation farm and home are just a few miles away, where we raise sheep, cattle, goats and chickens. Learn more about this land: Spend the night along the river in a 14 acre field. We have a picnic table, fire pit and grill in place! This site is easily accessible and along a road. The Appalachian Trail and Virginia Creeper Trail are a few miles away in Damascus, Va, where you can bike, hike, shop or eat. Just a 45 minute drive away is Grayson Highlands, where you can hike and see the wild ponies! Abingdon, VA is 20 minutes away. Hang out around a fire, fish (if you have your fishing license), or just relax by the river! We are excited to share our favorite camping spot. Beech Grove River Spot

We enjoyed it!

We loved having this wide open space by the river all to ourselves. Our dog loved it too - how nice to have a secure area where she could roam free. Our 6yo son enjoyed playing by the river. I know the site would be especially lovely with leaves on the trees! We were a little early in the season, but we enjoyed it very much.

So many dogs barking

The campsite is really pretty and decently convenient to Damascus. I really liked having the gate to the location lockable. Felt very safe. Only downside if you are tent camping as we were, all of the houses around the campsite have dogs. No kidding they barked nonstop both nights until 3am.

Perfect first booking

Nice flat space for a tent, fire ring, hammock frame, and exactly 150,000 stars. Ducks, deer, squirrels, fish in the river, and a chipmunk. "Facilities" were clean. I'll be booking again on our next trip to the area.
