Thouroughly enjoyed our stay
Arcadia Sanctuary is a beautifully piece of property tucked into the base of Mount Pleasant. As guests, we had full run of the property. Our younger children loved to visit with chickens, ducks and Jax and Allie, the property's sweet doggo residents. Our older kids thoroughly enjoyed the property's numerous trails that wind through the woods and over creeks.
The site we stayed at was a spacious clearing that looked like a natural balcony, overlooking the property. The restrooms were just a short walk away and were far cleaner and private than what we are use to at public campgrounds.
The host (Fran) and the property care takers were beyond helpful and made us feel right at home. Arcadia Sanctuary was a great base camp for our family hiking expedition into the AT and we will likely stay again in the future.
Upon arriving the directions were very easy to follow because my cell phone service wasn’t great so I had to revert to the written directions on the site. We met the owner and she was very helpful and kind and helped us get familiar with the area and where we’d be camping. She had two dogs that accompanied us throughout our weekend which just added to the atmosphere of being outside. The camp site was spacious and very clean and secluded for privacy that we were wanting. There was also plenty of firewood around to keep the fire going without having to walk a mile to gather wood. The staff was also very friendly and checked up on us and made sure we had everything we needed but without being intrusive. Overall this experience went above my expectations and I will definitely be returning in the future.
Fran and co. are awesome hosts!
Fran and Co. are extremely friendly and very organized hosts! Their sites are so nice. Upon arrival, my dogs were so excited that they jumpEd on Fran. She very politely asked if she could hold my bigger dog while I untangled their leashes, which was a HUGE help.
The site was extremely peaceful and I would recommend to anybody!
Our site was up on a ledge sort of overlooking the small valley, it was stunning! The bathrooms and showers were so clean, it was wonderfully convenient. Love exploring the property and seeing all the chickens and guineas running around!
Clean, welcoming and private
Fran’s property was great! The sites were private, quiet and clean. We enjoyed the trash can, fire pit and picnic table. The bathroom facilities were spotless and Fran never made us feel like we were imposing. My kids loves the chickens and ducks, and our dog was also very welcomed. We will definitely return!
Glad I found this place, a fantastic and peaceful sanctuary! Good campsites, staff and amenities. The dogs were super happy and entertaining, checking on us every now and then like good stewards 😊
Also lots of little gems of nature just a short drive away. We checked out mount pleasant, a gentle 8 mile loop of mountain meadows with spectacular views at the peak. And panther falls, an excellent water feature with a nice spot for dipping, good for the summer heat!
Look forward to visiting again.
