About The Yome Away from Home
The Yome Away from Home features a unique, seven-sided, 200 sq. ft. tent structure suitable for two. It looks like a yurt but is built with the triangular structure of a geodesic dome. Hence: Yome. With its large screened windows, a real door, operable vent at the peak of the conical roof, double bed, chairs, etc., the Yome offers a charming, comfortable space for those who want a different camping experience.
The Yome campsite sits just above the Virginia Creeper Trail (hiking, biking, horseback riding) and the South Fork of the Holston River (fishing, tubing, kayaking, swimming). The property -- a mini farm with horses, gardens and unique renovations for energy efficiency -- is on Hwy 58 between Damascus (4.5 miles away) and Abingdon, VA (7.5 miles away).
The Yome does heat up on sunny days, when most campers will be out exploring the area. It cools off rapidly after sunset and is comfortable overnight and during rains.
