This property was once a 300 acre plus tobacco farm. The original log cabin was built in the 1850s and now serves as our dining room. The front portion of the house was completed in April of 1861 and the back in the early 1900s. We have plans to eventually turn it into a working farm which produces tinctures, salves and extracts of various native plants including hemp. Learn more about this land: Heavily wooded mountain side with flowing creek. Easy access (walking distance) to Jefferson National Forest, National Forest horse trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Note: You cannot drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway as the path is an old forest road which has been gated, but you can walk up to it.) We also have a small, uncovered tree house which is available on a first come, first served basis. Only site 4 is next to the brook. However, the site positions are for the purposes of the listing only. You may camp anywhere on the property. There is plenty of frontage on the creek and several tents can go up there. We also now have a purple bus which is retrofitted as a camper and has a refrigerator, stove and television which is connected to our internet. The host was very kind and helpful with instructions which is greatly appreciated. Beautiful property in a lovely town not far from Roanoke. I would recommend booking this space if you like that small town feeling.

Welcoming and Safe!

I was looking for a place where I could feel safe sleeping alone in my car, and Roni’s place allowed me to feel beyond comfortable doing so! She welcomed me and assisted me with my needs, and having the toilet shed right next to me was perfect and private. I would absolutely come back here again!

Without Hesitation

Roni suggested that I move to campsite 1 due to the size of my pop-up tent trailer. It is close to the amenities and a lovely spot for the sunrise. Roni was warm, welcoming, and conscientious host. I definitely know where to stay the next time I need camping in the area

Sleep under stars tent included.

Roni is a very friendly and helpful, hospitable host. The tent was not level tho, with rocks and tree roots underneath. And wasn't sealed so there were several insect critters crawling about. The sheltered area was lovely. Surrounded by lots of briers and woodlands. Beautiful sunrise!

Site 1 - Tent camping by a gurgling brook

Great place to over-night. I’ve got a truck bed tent, so I used the turnout by the parking area. It was pretty level… with a fire pit and a well-built outhouse. Roni checked to make sure I had everything I needed before I went to bed. And they were super gracious when my dog barked at a squirrel 1st thing in the AM (I’m so sorry!). I also got to watch a spectacular sunrise as I packed up my tent. Thanks for the hospitality!

Use our treehouse for your bedroom.

Awesome Treehouse!

We loved staying in Roni's treehouse for a special anniversary camping trip this weekend! She has a beautiful yard with a big garden and a few secluded camp sites, which made the space feel communal and private all at once. When we arrived, Roni welcomed us to her land and made sure we were all set. The treehouse was well outfitted with warm bedding & kept us warm, dry, and bug-free. We would definitely return for another stay, or recommend her place to our friends. Thank you!
