As private as private gets but only 6 miles to Newport Vt. There is a creek and a one acre pond (20 feet deep). It is all mixed hard and softwoods. It has some magnificent old growth trees 100 foot tall. There is a good rd that my friend has used with his Lincoln. Most any vehicle (car or Pickup)can get to the site. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. For more info call 863220 5881 Excellent drinking water is available from the hose at our house. Fires are allowed & we supply the wood at no extra charge.

Lovely time
The place is perfect for rustic camping lovers like us. No noise, no neighbors. Just plain nature. The covered roof reaaallly help us while it was pouring rain! The pond is nice but not so appealing to us for swimming. We preferred dipping in the little stream. Would be nice to have an easier access to it 😉. The dry toilet could also use some additional love. But its better than nothing. We also swam and kayak on Brownington pond next to Tony & Gigi’s house. It was lovely. They hosts were very nice and welcoming. One comment would be on the access to the campsite. A regular car would have not make it on that road especially after rain. We were happy to have 4wheel drive pick up truck. We would go back.

Showed up to camp at three sisters, but no way our camper and truck were getting in there. Tony and his wife let us set up camp in their yard right along the lake, even though it was next to their house it was quiet and peaceful, and we loved listening to the owls and loons and looking out over the lake. We did walk to the Three Sisters site and it's super private and remote with lots of great trails to walk along.

Simple, rustic, and great
Tony was great, and even though we arrived kinda late, he was happy to take us to camp. Once we got tjere we decided to sleep in our van instead of setting up a tent, and either would have worked fine. There is a covered pavilion which we parked under, didn't make a fire, and the next morning we walked around a bit and checked out the land. It's private and quiet...and rustic, which works fine for us, as we are campers and backpackers. There is a "privy", but we didn't see it till the following morning and didn't use it. This stay suited our needs just fine and Tony was kind and helpful. This place reminded me of great childhood memories camping on my Grandparents' land in Canada. Would definitely stay again. Only drawback was the mud, but it's to be expected.

Private campsite with pond
We had a lovely time camping on Tony's land! At first we had a hard time finding the campsite but that was only because we left too late and got there after dark. Tony was extremely helpful and kind! We really enjoyed the privacy, floating around on the little pond and it was just what we needed for our little family. We'll definitely come back again soon!
