Our tipi is located in a field abundant with wildflowers up a gentle sloping hill from our house. Parking is near our house with a short walk up to the tipi.

There is a bathroom building located adjacent to the tipi that houses a composting toilet and a sink with cold running water. There is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water and an outdoor kitchen with a propane camp stove, potable water, a picnic table, gas grill, pots and pans and dishes and utensils for your use

Our property is located in the beautiful town of Strafford, which is off the beaten path but has easy access to all that the mountains of eastern Vermont have to offer. We are close to the Hanover/Norwich/White River area and there are numerous places to hike, fish, swim, mountain bike and kayak nearby.

Guests are warmly welcomed to our magical land and tipi experience. We will most likely be in residence during your stay. You are welcome to come and go as you please, and we are happy to share conversation with you, or you can maintain less interaction and more privacy as you prefer.

We also have a rustic frisbee golf course in the woods near the tipi and are happy to explain the access to the course to you and provide frisbees for your use. There is a horseshoe pit and badminton set for your use as well as a telescope and lounge chairs for star gazing. The night sky on clear nights is amazing.

Our town has a beautiful historic town house to be explored and there is a gorgeous waterfall 3 miles away from our home.

Strafford is home to the historic Justin Morrill Homestead which offers tours of the buildings and gardens.

A car is a necessity as much of Vermont and nearby New Hampshire are rural with very little or no public transportation. Driving times from Boston: 2.5 hours, NYC: 5hours and 3.5 hours to Montreal.

The Stone Soup restaurant is located in Strafford and offers gourmet cuisine in an old blacksmith shop and is open Thursday to Sunday evenings with reservations and of note: does not accept credit cards. It is worth this minor inconvenience! Of note is that there is only one store that sells groceries in town: Coburn's General Store which closes at 6:30pm every night except Sunday when it closes at 1pm and is located 7 miles away.

There are numerous restaurant choices in the greater Hanover/White River area and in South Royalton. Some folks find that due to the location of our land and tipi that once they arrive they prefer not to leave for meals, so bringing food that you can cook on our grills may be preferred.

We have a friendly cat that lives at the house, and many hummingbirds and other wild birds. In the summer our house is surrounded by perennial flower gardens and an organic vegetable garden.

There is no internet or wifi at the tipi, but it is available at the house. There is no television and cell service is poor to non existent. We do have a landline available for domestic calls.
