Loved our stay at healing springs.
A beautiful Vermont farm that welcomed us with a small meadow on the edge of a mountain, two small ponds, a fire pit with seating for 8 and a picnic table with table covering and all. Firewood is available for purchase. Mike is great, a free spirit who is eager to please!!! The site for our 25' RV was perfect under a gigantic pine tree with a view of the mountain. It was easy to park. It has water hookup and electric but the electric is not RV suitable. It's an extension cord that works for one appliance at a time which proved to be ok with us. If it had not been unseasonably hot it would not have made a difference but it was at least 90° and AC would have been nice. Mike let us use our generator until 10pm which was perfect!!! I must mention that the water is well water and wonderful. We filled up our tank and empty water bottles before we left. Mike has egg laying fowl, lol, and I believe he sells them. I definitely recommend this campsite.
Epic location rad host
Healing Springs sure did HEAL US. Beautiful spot overlooking picturesque trees and a red barn with chickens. My kids were so happy. There was so much to explore we found frogs and turtles in the ponds, followed the logging trail up the mountain for an unforgettable view of the Green Mountains there is even a teepee up there.
This spot was truly gorgeous (that view!) and private without being remote or difficult to find. Firewood available for $10. Every evening we sat by campfire, the stars are so incredibly clear. Outdoor pizza oven is also available for use. My husband whipped up a few pies for us one evening, the kids were delighted, such a novelty for them! The water hook-up is some of VT's finest well water! We drank gallons of it, and made sure to top up before we left. Electric hook-up also available.
There is acres to explore on the farm but it's centrally located to some amazing hikes nearby. Walking distance to Lake Shaftsbury with a kid-friendly and scenic trail.
If by chance you can catch your host, Mike, in between the farm duties of feeding the chickens, cleaning the coops and tending to the vegetable gardens, I recommend you stop and chat with him. One of the great features of VT state as a whole is its genuine, heart felt residents, and Mike is as genuine as the come!
We highly recommend staying here. I’ve already booked our next stay! See you soon Healing Springs!
Great place, close to everything!
We had a great time! Mike was a perfect host, available but not intrusive. The farm was beautiful and while lively during the day, it was beautifully quiet at night. We’re already thinking about when we can come back!
I’ve been using Airbnb for years and Hipcamp a handful of times now. Mike’s sanctuary has hands down been my most memorable experience. The hiking trails were magical, we made amazing pizza in his pizza oven, his dog Harvey (such a good boy!) and birds were a pleasure to be around. We camped at 2 locations - the view of the mountains at the field camp was incredible and under the pinetree was a dream. Not only is Mike an amazing person, full of great stories and insights, he was also so kind and helpful - he even helped tow our van when it got stuck in the mud after a bad storm. What a guy!! Before you leave, I suggest taking home some of his maple syrup if he has it - it’s well worth it. Thank you, Mike! We can’t wait to come visit again.
