Sleeping Dog Homestead
Had a nice stay
Although I don’t believe she’ll be hosting again (moving) I would recommend staying here. Given that we’ll likely be the last campers due to COVID and her move, my review will be short.
We were able to venture into the woods and pick our own spot to camp which was cool. Catherine generously let us have a good amount of firewood which was really great. We were close enough to surrounding areas for a trip to breweries if we wanted, but we just stayed at camp. We saw some bear cubs which was cool and also somewhat unnerving but it was fine (put your food away at night.) We had a great time and would go back/recommend staying if she ends up accepting new people.

Sleeping Dog Homestead
We camped in the open field next to the house, and fortunately we were the only campers so it felt fairly private. The location was excellent for what we needed -- only about 10 minutes from Montpelier, yet relatively quiet and near the woods and a small stream. A few additional amenities would have greatly improved our experience, such as an outhouse, a picnic table, a mowed lawn, and a cleared area for our tent.

Great campsite. Lots of options with secluded woods or an open grassy area. We opted for the woods by the creek, but still just a short walk to our car. Catherine was very kind and welcoming and made us feel at home for our time there. Great location not far from Montpelier!

Fairytale camping
The property is huge! Explored a little when we first arrived and plenty of great locations to camp. We decided on the closest spot by the stream to the fire pit for convenience sake. Was a bit tough to find level ground but no biggie. The thing I liked most was all the moss. Almost like a fairy tale atmosphere. Catherine was super helpful and accommodating. Oh, take your time on the driveway...bottomed our our Impreza a few times. SUV would be fine.

This was an amazing trip for me and my friends because of this amazing site. The host was very kind and helpful, the forest was enchanting, every element was a perfect. Had an delightful time would definitely come back.
