We will be open starting July 8th, 2019 -- book for the summer now! The cottage and beach property has been in our family for 112 years.  Lake Willoughby is touted as the best of all Vermont lakes! Lake Willoughby is the deepest lake in Vermont and is home to abundant wildlife: loons, falcons, osprey, rainbow trout, lake trout, lake chub and more!  The white sandy beach is a particularly beautiful place with the view up between the mountains.  It is an exceptional inland beach, and many guests think it may be the finest in New England. The finest in Vermont for sure! The cottage is across the lake and also may be rented.

Tiny Cabin by the Beach
The Lake is Worth it...
Gorgeous lake. We had perfect weather and stayed down at the beach most of the weekend. We used Sams old charcoal grill to make a firepit in the sand, using large driftwood logs to keep it upright and create airflow. The stars were incredible. The lamp included in the tiny house needed new batteries so Sam ran to the store to get us some, which was very helpful or else we would have had no light! One of the three tiki torches worked, which provided a nice glow to see the path to the port-o-potty late at night, which was very clean, we used our headlamps at night for light inside it. We loved the natural spring that kept our drinks cold when we ran out of ice, and that Sam let us check out late to enjoy the lake longer. The bed was comfy, as was the floor, since we had to sleep 3 people and a dog inside- we had booked the tent listing too, but could not use it since a critter bit a hole through the screen door and used the provided mattresses as a restroom. The tiny house did not have a grill, but we used the single burner propane camp stove from the tent listing. The tiny house came with a propane heater, but we did not use it because it hadn't been tested for carbon monoxide, thankfully we brought warm sleeping bags as it did get down below 50degrees one night. The listing says renting the sailboat is an additional cost option, but the boat had a hole in it so we couldn't use it. Technically the site is private, but you can see houses next door, hear neighboring parties, and the beach is shared by a couple other homes on the lake, so we saw neighbors every day. The tiny house is about 60' from the tent site and you have to walk right by its entrance to get to the shared bathroom and parking area, and vice versa to get down to the beach- We were glad we rented both sites to have the most privacy, even if we couldn't use the tent.

Tiny Cabin by the Beach
Lovely little gem of a mix of forested privacy and quiet beach front camping. We loved our stay and even on a stormy night were completely comfortable in the tiny cabin, dry and appreciative of a very clean covered bathroom/portapotty. Sam was a delight; both easy and attentive. The lake was the cleanest we've seen without hiking remotely.

Tiny Cabin by the Beach
The cabin was great and the lake was beautiful. A great view of some mountains and one of the clearest lakes I have ever been to. We had a great time relaxing on the beach all weekend. Sam was very friendly and gave some good recommendations for local restaurants. The only downside was that Sam's family stayed on the beach one night and had to walk past our cabin to use the bathroom which would have been fine if there were curtains. It made changing very uncomfortable. Aside from that though, it was a great trip and we would definitely do it again!

This beach property is the perfect little getaway in VT! The host is extremely friendly and accommodating and the beach is just a few short steps from the cabin! The water was warm and clear and great for swimming and floating! Such a beautiful place!
