Miles of trails accessible from your site. Abandoned rock quarry for taking a dip or a short canoe paddle.

Located off a dirt road, tucked into a corner of our working homestead and farm, you'll find a space to relax, unwind, and reconnect.

About Us

Our goal is to make the joy of slowing down and connecting accessible to all. Much of our free time is spent with our hands in the dirt. We raise a diverse variety of animals and produce to provide for ourselves and our community. We have a variety of goods available throughout the year - so please let us know if you would be interested in our eggs, garlic, squash, or meats to enjoy here or take home! Learn more about us at quarrybrook.com and follow-us at QuarryBrookVT on Instagram.

We have two wonderful dogs, Bodhi and Chaco. You might also see one of our three cats roaming around during your stay. All of our fur-friends are friendly, sociable, and very loving.

What’s Nearby

There's a million reasons we've chosen this area to call home. Spend your time just being, or explore the many farms, restaurants, galleries, shops, and activities Southern Vermont has to offer.

We’re located 5 miles from downtown Putney where you’ll find Next Stage Arts, Yellow Barn International Music Center, and the Sandglass Theater. We also have a great food co-op, general store, and a few restaurants.

If you’re looking for a hike with a great view, it’s absolutely worth checking out Putney Mountain and The Pinnacle. Easily hiked in a couple of hours or less.

We’re 17 miles from Brattleboro - where you’ll find a larger variety of restaurants and local shops. We’re also blessed with a year-round farmers market - which is not to be missed!

We’re passionate about good quality food and supporting our local farmers and businesses. We would love the opportunity to recommend some of our favorite spots.

The Dome

When you arrive, you'll drive part-way up our forested driveway, and see a sign for the pull-off to park your car. The dome is a short 1/8 mi hike in. Wagon provided so you can carry all your gear in on one trip - and settle right in!

The dome is built on top of a platform and fully furnished with a queen size bed and linens. The wood stove will keep you toasty on a chilly Vermont evening. Cozy up next to the fire pit while soaking in the stars. Firewood provided. Cell phone reception is reliable. For a little more light during winter nights, we've added electricity.

The private picnic area includes a wash station with basic cooking gear (e.g., propane cooking stove, french press, plates, silverware, pan). We will provide potable water.

We have an outhouse with a dry sawdust composting bucket arrangement. Clear instructions will be provided upon your arrival.

The dome is insulated, and available for hardy souls looking for winter camping options, snowshoeing, skiing, etc.

Trash must be left in designated receptacles.

Pet Policy

Dogs welcome. We expect you'll clean-up after them in a reasonable manner. Please be mindful our chickens are free range. We also ask that you don’t leave them on the site unattended

***PLEASE NOTE: There will be a fee of $10 for each pet/night. Please select that you are adding an additional person to your booking which will automatically cover this fee.***

Personalizing your Stay

Let us arrange for french press and granola service, a dozen farm-fresh eggs, hard cider & artisanal small-batch chocolates, s'mores kits, and more. All local of course!

The dome was an unbelievable getaway! Very secluded and private, there was a parking spot marked for Hipcampers as soon as you pull into Nick and Tara's driveway, and cute little arrows pointing you down the trail to the dome like a little scavenger hunt! Once we got there we couldn't have been more comfortable. The dome itself is tucked right into the edge of the woods, with a beautiful stone rimmed fire pit just a few yards away, great picnic table space and even a camp stove for us to cook on! They even included cooking utensils, cups, plates, and coffee from the famous Mocha Joe's in Brattleboro. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and you could watch the pines sway from the skylight in the dome all night. So relaxing, so peaceful and so so beautiful. We couldn't recommend it more.

Tara and Nick’s Geodesic Dome was a dream! We arrived to the wood stove burning and firewood set up in the fire pit outside. The dome itself was pristine- clean, simple and beautiful. It was a chilly night (more April NE snow) but the wood fire, which we stoked a few times throughout the night, kept us warm and cozy, and an extra comforter was stored under the bed. Tara and Nick thought of it all- everything seemed close to brand new, including most of the cooking materials, and they were so kind to leave us some delicious local cider and chocolates. I could not recommend higher, and only wish we had more than one night to spend. A wonderful getaway on a chilly April weekend!

We all have very mixed feelings about our experience at the Quarry Brook. On one hand, the site had everything we needed, and it was fascinating and comfortable to stay in the geodome! Our kids had such a fun time inside of it! There was an apple orchard 10 minutes away with wonderful apples and goodies! The hiking and kayaking, even just driving around and seeing foliage was spectacular and conveniently located. The hosts were quick to respond and the wagon offered to transport things to and from the campsite was very much appreciated.

However. The campsite is surrounded by the forest massacre - there were logs and logs and logs of cut down trees right at the campsite. If you wanted a peaceful lookout into the woods, as we expected - this is NOT it. There was so many trees cut down, it felt like we were in the log mill, not the wilderness of the forest. All that natural habitat was just laying there in front of you as you were eating your dinner. This was such a bummer for us to be surrounded by a forest graveyard. Had we known this was the actual look of the campsite, we would have picked to stay somewhere else. It was that big of a deal for us. Some may find feeling differently about it, though.

Imagine if those trees were still standing... That's what we expected so much of lost natural habitat...Some of the forest is freshly cut down, such a pity...lovely geodome surrounded by cut down forest

Amazing! I simply adored my time here. I was looking for a respite from city life and this is exactly what I found at Quarry Brook.

The actual dome and location was immaculate and exactly as described. The trail to the quarry is well marked, and the views were what you expect to find in idyllic Vermont. I was looking to get away, and I found serenity and quiet- thanks!

We loved our stay at the Geo dome! The site itself was a little "under construction" and our 3 year old tripped over herself a bit but she had fun exploring when she could. Otherwise we got rained in but got a board game and had a nice time relaxing. The fire stove kept us very warm, needing to maintain it through the night, they had a bin of basic supplies like a Coleman grill. We brought a small cot for our 3 year old and a pack n play for our smallest, we were very comfortable.
