Primrose Hill is an 1850s hilltop farmhouse at the edge of the Green Mountains; the last house on an unmaintained road in the center of a good-sized, 1.5 acre lawn surrounded by forest. The lawn is the campsite, so you can set up camp anywhere you would like, and there will be no other campers aside from you. It is very quiet up here with almost zero light pollution. The house is entirely visible from the lawn, but there's a spot by the barn that's out of view if you'd prefer, or you can go down into the woods a short ways. There is a nice public lake maybe a mile away, and a dedicated bathroom with a shower and tub is in the house just for campers, which is accessible through a separate door - linens provided. Camp on a flat, cleared lawn, play some frisbee with your dog, grill something, have a shower, nap in an Adirondack chair, snatch a little wifi to let the world know you're alive, and enjoy a magnificent view of the Milky Way. The nearest neighbors are about 12 cows which are pastured across the road by a local farmer, and occasionally wander into the woods near the road. I'd say Primrose Hill is perfect for folks with dogs, people who need a little break in the middle of a bigger camping trip, or people who want to sleep under the stars but still have some of the creature comforts.

This is a fantastic spot! The options to camp are great and having a separate toilet and shower are key. The surrounding area is quintessential Vermont country and the insights and tips provided by Adam were invaluable. He also went out of his way to get the fire pit completed before we got there which made the experience all the better. The description doesn’t lie: we could see so many stars at night that made for a wonderful way to go to bed. One thing to note is that the drive in off the main road is up a hill on an unpaved and bumpy dirt road. We were very glad we brought our SUV 4x4. Not sure our Sedan would have made it up in wet weather. Overall we loved it and will be back.
We absolutely loved our stay at Primrose Hill. Adam is a great guy and excellent host. The shower was a big plus and was very clean. The property itself is beautiful and quiet. The stars at night are fantastic, we even had a deer come see us late at night! It was exactly what we needed.
