Description

They don’t call it New Discovery State Park for nothing. Around every nook you’ll find something to explore, and the camping options are no exception. The two main loops feature not only tent and trailer sites but also lean-tos and horse sites. Looking for additional privacy? Make the hike through Groton National Forest to Kettle and Osmore ponds, where you’ll find a handful of remote tent and lean-to sites. And it’s all just 20 miles from Montpelier.

Great area, lots to do. Road to access campgrounds and water and hiking is a bit rough in spots. I have not camped at New Discovery but remote camped at Kettle Pond. Some campsites in Groton Forest are not good for trailers over 20’. Just be aware, don’t get stuck!
