The vibe at Lake Effect
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Brian is the most wonderful host, he gave us insider tips on great places to go and told us all about the history of the bike causeway, and his place is the most beautiful location right on the tip of mallets bay. Such a warm, welcoming and friendly soul, we look forward to seeing Brian again very soon!
We had a really great stay at "Lake Effect" while we were up in Vermont for a concert. Brian already had a fire going and a BBQ ready when we arrived. It was really great to have a house to use for the bathroom and kitchen during our stay. We camp a lot but when it rains it is always nice to have those amenities close by.
There is a lot of space to choose from to put your tent(s) and the views are really great from the shoreline just steps from your campsite. There is a really beautiful canoe in the back of the eco-friendly house so that you can get a closer look at the lake. Brian has really great recommendations for what to do in the area and he is familiar with a lot of the history of Colchester and the nearby towns. Great location and very accommodating.
This experience was top notch! The host is amazing and so welcoming. He really provides you with the best Vermont experience. So knowledgeable on the area, especially for any outdoor activity you could imagine (and some that you would never think of). The location is right on the water, with beautiful views and a very peaceful feel. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Burlington area!
Brian's yard is a beautiful place to camp. Near the edge of Lake Champlain, it has a great balance of natural beauty and comfortable accommodations. Brian could not have been more hospitable in providing me with access to everything from power outlets outside to the use of his bathroom, kitchen and fridge inside his home. With easy access to Burlington and all kinds of lake attractions I'd definitely recommend this site to anybody looking for a few nights of camping without feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere!
Lake Effect was a relaxed spot with lots of things to do nearby. Brian was helpful with whatever we needed for our stay, and offering things to do nearby. Worth checking out is Thayer Beach, just down the road from the camp - awesome swimming spot and beach park. Definitely would return.
Lake effect was a wonderfully special place to stay. We stayed during a busy weekend and there was plenty of room. Met some amazing people. Shared the most amazing food and the hospitality was beyond exceptional. I would highly recommend Lake effect for your next adventure.
Brian was a very gracious host and goes above & beyond. He made us feel right at home, was helpful with directions and places to go. We had power to our Sprinter Van and access to a clean bathroom and kitchen amenities. The site is quiet and peaceful. It was easy to get to many places. We will be back for sure.
Brian was a great host! Very laid back and friendly. He was enthusiastic about telling us about all the cool things to do in the area. Lake Effect is in a great location, especially if you're planning on biking on the Island Line Trail which is what we did. It's also so convenient to Burlington and a drive in movie theater. Brian's place is on a dead end dirt road so it's really quiet and you can see the lake from his driveway. It was also a great place to star gaze. Hope to be back soon!
