Pitch a tent or pull your camper alongside this sweet, meadow-side site with sweeping views of meadow, sky and river confluence. Take a 3-minute walk across the grassy meadow and down your private riverside path to our beloved Mad River beach. This is a semi-private beach, naturally divided and hidden from our other semi-private beach site. Swim, tube, fish and relax up or down the river and confluence. There are no houses or buildings in view of this site. On the back side of the site is a high, moss-covered rock wall and the view overlooks our majestic river confluence. The tall and thick tree canopy provides a natural ceiling to this site. Get curious about the history of this place by checking out the old abandoned Massey Furgeson hay baler tucked in the woods, a gem from many years gone by. Enjoy a well built stone firepit, a 20" Weber kettle charcoal grill, running potable water in a large utility sink, a composting outhouse, benches around the fire, a securely installed hammock/posts, and 2 hefty, round, wooden tables. Leave from this site on foot to access a sweet trail that travels along the river, over a private bridge, down a beautiful dirt road and into the forest.
Our property is located on the CROSS VERMONT TRAIL: "a multi-use path connecting communities, and the natural areas in between - across Vermont!" Check out their website (Cross Vermont Trail Association) for maps, guide, events and outings! Many adventurists also enjoy nearby, mountainous and beloved trails: Camel's Hump, The Long Trail, Mt. Mansfield, Stowe Pinnacle, Smuggler's Notch and more. There are a plethora or shorter, scenic and gentle hikes in our region, "the crossroads and recreation center of Vermont"! We also offer on-site horsemanship and riding lessons ($35/30-minute overview and introduction or $65/hour and $100/1.5hours). Visit our website: Horses and Pathfinders - we'd love to hear from you.

Lucinda was a great host and the site was beautiful! Would recommend staying there if you have the chance! The river nearby the site was a blast to swim in and the stars at night were amazing!!
A beautiful spot and the most fantastic hosts (horses included)! The kids are already planning our next trip! ... also, how will we ever be able to camp without running water and a hammock again? The extra amenities at the site were a nice treat. The tree cover was a great shelter from the rain. And we loved getting to ride horses, and seeing heron, ducks, beaver and crawfish in the river... so neat! Definitely recommend! :)

I stayed just for one night, and wish I could have stayed longer. Lucinda was so kind and welcoming. The site is just beautiful- lovely view across a small field to the river. Fun short path to the river bank and some great swimming holes. Was great to have potable water right at the site, and it was hard to pull myself away from the wonderful fire ring. Thank you for hosting Lucinda!

Beautiful pics!! Becky was among my top favorite campers of 2020. With a fun and generous spirit, she let me check out her amazing Scamp camper. Low impact, appreciative and adventurous - I hope to see Becky return again - with her family too!
🌲 VT is my favorite state and Lucinda's farm is far and away the most transporting time we've had as a family visiting! If this is what HipCamp is all about, it's reflected beautifully in every touch of what Lucinda offers.
👨👩👦👦 Family campers will be welcome here and pleasantly overwhelmed by the plethora of regional activities and sheer beauty of central VT. The location is as convenient as it is seemingly remote and pastoral. Our kids would have been perfectly happy roaming the fields and waterway, never stepping foot outside the property. 🐎
It is one enchantingly dispersed experience, and the attention to detail and care—without being precious or particular—is exceptional.
Lucinda and her son were gracious hosts at every turn, even as a tropical storm bore down on us during our first-night's stay. We wouldn't trade the experience for anything, and they heightened it at every turn, giving us just the right level of privacy, responsiveness, regional recommendations and courtesy throughout. We even stole a chance to learn more about Lucinda's purpose-driven journey to animal husbandry and her professional passions, which make one want to support her mission and enterprise here all the more.
🏆 I don't need to see the other candidates: Let's this ring as my petition to crown this unparalleled farm-river-stable oasis to be Hipcamp's #1 choice among VT hosts next year! We simply cannot wait to return.
Lucinda is a great host and the site is gorgeous. Highly recommend.
We loved the site. We were 2 adults and 5 teens in 3 tents and there was plenty of space to spread out. The kids had a blast in the river. Lucinda was super friendly and helpful.

Thank you so much for coming Pam and hope to see you and the tribe again :-)
Lucinda is a wonderful host and her spot is great!

Thank you, thank you Paige!
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lucinda's site. The views are gorgeous, the campsite is lovely, the river access is a huge perk, and Lucinda is a great host. I'll definitely come back for a longer stay the next time I find myself in Vermont.
Highly recommended! Thanks Lucinda!

You are very welcome and it would be great to have you back again Colton!
Camping at Lucinda’s was amazing. The site had way more amenities than we expected (two tables, little charcoal grill, benches, hammock, compost toilet in a little tent, sink with running potable water). It is not totally private since the path leading to the other site is right in front of it but we where not bothered by anyone at any moment.
The river is a total experience. We spent hours and hours exploring and swimming. My toddler absolutely loved it!
The location is so beautiful that while there we booked a couple of days in two weeks to visit again.
Thanks Lucinda for the hospitality!

You are most welcome Ana! Thank you for the descriptive review :-)
