You can have all the solitude you'd like or feel free to come to the house for a shower and a cup of coffee. In this off-grid wagon, you will have an indoor cooking stove (2 burner propane) and a potbelly stove for the cooler nights but no running water, electricity; therefore no indoor plumbing. Fresh water, battery operated lights, candles, oil lamp, coffee/tea set ups, basic spices, paper towels, TP, linens/towels, soap, cooking/eating utensils provided. Wi-Fi is not available and cell coverage is spotty. There is a 'fancy' privy exclusively for the wagon and a place for a cold-water wash up.
This wagon has a small sleeping berth (cozy for either 2 people who really like each other or a solitary gypsy). We also have space to pitch a small tent nearby but ask for parties no larger than 2 people and a dog (or cat). We provide a cot that can be used inside the small wagon.
This is truly tiny space, however. You will have a table and chairs for a sit down chat or meal. Enjoy the outdoor kitchen area and fire ring with plenty of fallen wood nearby for a fire in the ring or the chiminaria for the dryer months when fire-burning in the ring may be ill-advised or prohibited.
Craftsbury is a farming, skiing and educational community. Food growers, cheese makers, brewers, Sterling College and the Craftsbury Outdoor Center are the backbone of our economy. We are a hop, skip and a jump from Farmstead Brewery, Jasper Hill (or Cellers) cheese makers, Circus Smirkus, Bread and Puppet radical political theater. The Museaum of Everyday Life, and the Highland Arts Center. I love it here and my guess is you will, too, if you like mountain views, great day hikes, local food and drink and a laid back vibe.

The vibe at Vermont Northwoods Gypsy Wagon
Larry and Gwen have a beautiful property! The gypsy wagon is down a path from their farmhouse, and feels so secluded and homey!
The wagon had all of your basic amenities to cook, make tea/coffee and plenty of water. The bed is small, but VERY comfy! Outside there are 2 spots to have a nice fire - in the front of the wagon and the back. We had one going out front and ate dinner on a log.
There's a very cute sitting area/dish washing station off to the side of the wagon which was very convenient. The outhouse out back is one of the nicest, cleanest and well crafted I have ever seen! There are a lot of personal touches in the wagon and surrounding property. Larry and Gwen really took a lot of great care with putting this amazing place together.
I very much enjoyed staying out at the wagon. 10/10!

Gwen and Larry were wonderful! They had everything you could need to have a nice trip away. The wagon was beautiful and the area around was as well. They were SO kind and accommodating. This is definitely a place that helps you get off the grid for a moment! I will definitely be back!
This was our first experience with Hipcamp and we absolutely loved it ! Larry was the best host and made us feel right at home. The wagon is super cozy. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
We absolutely loved the Gypsy Wagon! It was even better then on the photos. The spot was really private, the open kitchen is amazing and the bed was very confortable. Gwen recommended hikes and lakes near by that were also great. We highly recommend and would definitely go back!
