My dog and I had a blast playing and floating in the river all afternoon. This place is a secluded little slice of paradise.

Pete's land is the kind of place you see painted in idyllic Vermont landscapes. The field is gorgeous and the stream adds a unique touch that's hard to beat. The site is spacious, well equipped and provides a true Vermont camping feel. Within a few hours of being there I was already planning a trip back. I highly recommend this spot, my friends and I had a great experience!

Peter was very responsive and helpful with everything we needed for the night. The land is beautiful, very private, and easy to navigate. It was nice sleeping near the stream and listening to the water all night. It was a bit cloudy for our night but I imagine on a clear night the sky would be an incredible. We are looking forward to going back again.

Thanks, Peter!

It didn't look like much from the road but the drive across the field to the spot was flat and even though it was wet from rain, it wasn't muddy. Our dog LOVED the creek, which is just down a short path from the camp spot and is beautiful. This campsite is ideal for travelers with a dog. Kloe loved playing frisbee in the open field. Be mindful of the creek though, because the current can be really strong. It was a rainy night for us so we didn't get to enjoy the fire ring or what we can only imagine would be an amazing night sky, hidden from all light pollution. Peter did let us know that there was a webber grill in the shed and we also found a couple floating tubes in there which would be fun on a sunny day in the creek. We could hear the road from our tent but not enough to keep us awake. We had a great night sleep and would definitely stay there again.

Peter's camp is awesome! My husband, 2 small dogs and I booked site 1 and we were not disappointed. The site is large and very private as the sites are spread out (you can't see or hear your neighbors at all). Access the river by a short path through the woods (which was in need of being trimmed back). Our dogs had a blast swimming and running up and down the river and it was completely private to sunbathe and take a dip.
The campsite came complete with a table and 2 chairs, 2 sun loungers (1 was broken), fire pit (had a small hole in the bottom so hot coals kept falling through), full-size grill, an inner tube and tons of firewood. There was also a little shelter to keep the grill and wood dry which was convenient since it rained 1 night.
Sunsets are gorgeous and we could see the Big and Little Dippers every night. As others mentioned, the sites, especially 1, are close enough to the road that you can hear cars going by but they were infrequent and did not bother us. The road is not close enough to feel like your dog isn't safe or like you are on display.
Peter told us about a great swimming hole 5 mins away, We hiked Mt Ascutney which the campsite actually faces and is a short drive away to access the Cascades Trail. Corner stores less than 5 mins away for ice and other necessities. We went fishing and kayaking at nearby Stoughton Pond and Knapp Brooks Ponds (both are less than 10 min drive from camp). They were both beautiful and offered good fishing.
We will definitely be back!

We really loved our time here. The site is on the edge of a hay field and river bank, with thick forest on the other side. Peter was helpful and we enjoyed chatting with him. The dog loved splashing in the river and we loved the overall beauty of the area. Close to Woodstock and Queechee, which we recommend checking out.

Peter is very generous and friendly host and we would definitely stay at his farm again! His spacious and beautiful property includes farm land, a picturesque stream, and even the mountain right behind it. Our site included chairs, tables, and a nice little fire pit. We felt very secluded and comfortable on trout stream :)
