Our farm was named by my mother after the Norwegian composer, Edvard Grieg's, summer home. Trollhaugen Farm means Troll hill, but the only real trolls around these parts are the sheep. Our farm has sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that you are welcome to visit. The yurt sits under the trees next to a babbling brook. A hanging bridge connects you to the farm area. The yurt is private and has a fire pit right out back where you can grill or just sit and enjoy the fire. The colorful yurt offers a comfy four poster bed, a small kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and composting toilet. This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt. Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum. Please come visit us!Bring no sleeping bags; pack no coolers, this yurt has everything you need.  You will sleep in a four poster bed and awaken to birdsong. Glamourous camping, nestled in a shady spot near babbling brooks, on a working farm. Cross the hanging bridge to visit the farm animals. Hike the trails, swim in the brook, walk the beautiful dirt roads around us.

Loved the yurt! Perfect for a little getaway. The eggs provided from the farm was a great touch! Recommended to bring your own light source. Would visit again!

Rustic off grid farm with all you c
Johanna's farm was a getaway like no other. You truly felt alive among the lush trees, wildflowers, mosses and when you were brook-side. Her farm animals were incredibly used to humans and we even had sheep follow us around begging for pets. She offered us to help around the farm and we gladly dove in, enjoying every second. handmaking cider from her apple tree was the "cherry on top", so to speak. Propane stovetop, heat, and shower water was a very nice touch. Pack warm and for off grid nights (lights, downloaded content, coolers etc.) boots for mud are highly recommended. The little details to the yurt were incredibly thoughtful, from fresh picked flowers, to farm fresh eggs for breakfast provided upon arrival. One of a kind. We will be returning and suggesting this location to anyone who will listen.

The yurt was so large and cozy. I love that we had a full bathroom inside it. My favorite thing was the suspension bridge which had a brook under it. I did yoga and stretching there each day. I brought my own hammock and tied it to a few trees, and actually completely relaxed. We loved having our own fire each night. The yurt is in the woods far away from the house so you have plenty of privacy. We can’t wait to go back again!

The Perfect Glamping Experience!
We really enjoyed our stay at the yurt and were pleasantly surprised by all the amenities despite the fact that it’s off grid. There’s hot water, a full shower, a gas cook top and a cast iron gas for heating. There are also some coolers neatly tucked under a bench all you need is some ice, your food and you’re good to go. I’d advise bringing some headlamps or a battery operated lantern but other than most things you’d need are provided. It’s the perfect get away if you want to be out in nature beside a babbling brook and a campfire but don’t want the hassle of tent camping. We highly recommend it!
