Sweet and safe camping by the brook
My housemates and I had a lovely time camping by the little brook! Colby was very communicative and helpful before we got there, so we knew what to expect. We knew that there was a short (4-5 min) walk between where we could park and where we could camp, so we were (mostly) prepared for that. We brought a little bit too much gear for cooking an elaborate meal, so we had to do a few trips back and forth from the car to the site, but that was totally on us and our planning. And it wasn't bad to walk though the beautiful land anyways :)
The clearing had a great fire pit and plenty of space for 3 tents. Colby invited us to explore their land, and so we had a nice long hike just right from the campsite, which was perfect The stars were beautiful, the brook was soothing to listen to as we fell asleep, and we heard some amazing owls as well! Colby and partner were great hosts who were available for questions but also let us do our own thing!
Such a wonderful spot! Beautiful, secluded, private, and lovely with a great creek nearby! Be prepared for a good 5 minute hike in, down a hill and over a brook (a tad tricky, only if you're carrying lots of things) but it's well worth it! We really enjoyed our time here and would love to return next time we're in Vermont. Thank you!
Peaceful & secluded
We had a lovely stay at the Owl Grove site. The spot is beautiful and secluded, with the calmings sounds of the nearby stream. Colby and Aria were kind and welcoming hosts, bringing firewood to our site ahead of our arrival and offering suggestions for local trails and to-dos. Would recommend!
Sweet spot with awesome hosts
Perfect little campsite next to a stream! Colby was very nice and helpful with everything we needed (including perfectly detailed instructions) - she even had some Benadryl at the ready for a friend in need. 10/10
A group of us stayed at Colby's Owl Grove Campsite on a motorcycle trip in VT. Colby was easy to communicate with, gave spot on directions and was a very friendly host. The camp site was great and right by a little stream. He had firewood available to purchase and a hammock set up at the site. Quiet and well spaced out from the other campsites on the property, Owl Grove was a quick, few minute walk down a path in the woods from the parking area. We had a great stay and would gladly stay there again.
This was my first time on hipcamp and it wildly exceeded my expectations! The sites were beautifully located between a ridge and a brook or on the ridge, the ground was soft, the composting toilet might be cleaner than my own bathroom, and the hosts were so friendly! They let us see their gorgeously crafted tiny house and I went home with kale from their garden. Plenty of good swimming holes and hikes nearby too.
Great authentic camping experience!
Our group had a lovely weekend in the woods thanks to Elsewhere homestead! It felt like backcountry camping, but your car is nearby and there is a composting toilet! The stream next to the campsite makes a lovely backdrop for a peaceful sleep.
