Fox Farm is located on 8 magical acres in eclectic Brattleboro, VT. The Fox Farm Cottage is a sweet space that includes a loft for sleeping and sharing with a comfy bed, above a quaint family room with a hearty woodstove. The warmer months provide sweet summer breezes and intoxicating scents from the surrounding flora. The Cottage has a beautiful covered porch overlooking garden beds, fruit trees and abundant wild red and black raspberry bushes. The porch has also been enjoyed by many when the winter chill sets in and the snow falls with a silence that is pleasant and the scent of wood smoke that is memorable. The Cottage comes with a charcoal grill, access to a huge fire circle, or your own private fire pit and a picnic table. The stairway to to the loft is narrow and should be a consideration for those who may experience difficulties. The Fox Farm Cabin is a step up from camping in that it is cute, charming and warm and does not (at this point) offer plumbing or water. These amenities may be arranged by talking with Cindy, the property owner, if needed.
The hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience.
Fox Farm is located ideally on a trail-head that leads to the West River Trail (a 36-mile scenic trail through the West River Valley – eventually linking Brattleboro, Dummerston, Newfane, Townshend, Jamaica and South Londonderry) and the West River, offers opportunities to visitors to hike, fish, swim, ski, snow shoe and bike. The Marina Bar and Restaurant is a 2 mile hike or bike ride from the cottage (via the West River Trail) and is a fun way to see the beauty of Vermont and partake in some excellent indoor/outdoor dining with views of the water.
Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do.
For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from the cottage to the 36 mile trail for tons of fun.
Cottage guests may be greeted and visited by two friendly Bernese Mountain Dogs.

The vibe at Fox Farm Cottage
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Fox Farm Cottage was unbelievably beautiful and Cindy was so sweet! The cottage itself is so cozy and comfortable, surrounded by lush plants and greenery everywhere. We even had a TON of outlets inside for charging our phones and computers! Even though there was no running water, it was really not a problem at all. We cooked out on the porch with our camp stove, and enjoyed the summer breeze. After dinner we hopped down the trail nearby to the river and swam till dark with an amazing sunset! We are DEFINITELY going to come back in the future. Also, Cindy's dog (Loki) is the most lovable camp companion we could as for. Give him a good pat for us!
Cindy was great! Very helpful with local restaurant recommendations and accommodating for anything we might need during our stay.
The cabin was very sweet, comfortable and tidy, though everything could’ve used a good wipe down and sweep.
We would definitely stay here again!
Fox Farm Cottage was the perfect weekend getaway! It was easy to locate and the city of Brattleboro itself was also a great place with organic cafes, bookstores and great coffee. At Cindy's the land was beautiful and full of flowers, berries and places to relax. She was a wonderful and helpful host along with her sweet pup Loki who will surely make you feel welcome! We spent our days on the front porch of the cottage reading, walking the trail next to her home and swimming (or floating) in the river. There was a restaurant over a mile away that we walked to along the river that was on a marina. At night we sat by the fire and saw an incredible sky full of stars so don't forget to look up! Be sure to bring drinking water and toilet paper. Cindy also provided water in the cottage which was helpful and was always ready to answer our questions or give advice. We will absolutely be returning!
Fox Farm Cottage was everything we hoped it would be. Cindy was so welcoming, she even greeted us with fresh cut flowers ! Our "tour guide" Loki led us on our expedition down to the river!! It was a rainy night but we enjoyed the quiet setting which was enhanced by the rain hitting the tin roof.. The loft area was comfy and cozy and we slept well. This was the perfect setting to unplug, play some Scrabble and enjoy our mother daughter time before college starts up again! I would highly recommend Fox Farm Cottage! Thanks .Cindy and Loki!
The cabin was just as described and pictured. The porch is exceptionally cute, especially in the evening during a camp fire with the lights on and Cindy’s dog saying hello. We enjoyed a walk down to the marina for dinner then a relaxing evening around the porch. Cindy was accommodating and very nice! She even put fresh flowers in the cabin.
Bedroom was clean and simple. Down stairs floors and couch could have used a little vacuuming but we used the porch so it didn’t matter.
Our time at Cindy’s cottage was a much needed relaxing retreat. The cottage was cozy with plenty of room for the two of us + our pup, and the porch provided the perfect setting for unwinding. The property itself is beautiful, being surrounded by wildflowers and just a 10 minute walk to the river, it exceeded our expectations.
Cindy & her pup Loki were gracious and lovely hosts. We would love to come back and spend more time exploring!
What a sweet little getaway! Cindy was there to greet me, so warm and welcoming, and give me some good info on hiking trails and things to do nearby. She also emailed ahead of time a thorough list of restaurants/bars/must-sees. The cottage is the perfect place to get cozy by a fire and enjoy some peace and quiet. I will definitely be back!
