Casita de Sol y Luna is located in the West River Valley of Vermont, within walking distance of the West RIver Trail and several other hiking trails. The Casita is a recently renovated approximately 140 square foot cabin located next to a pond with a little beach. Although within walking distance of our house, it is very private and I guarantee the only other creatures you will see are our pygmie goats and any other wildlife that is passing through.
The inside of the cabin has been recently redone with wide plank wood floors and natural pine walls and ceiling. There is a woodstove inside to keep you warm and cozy. For bedding, there is a full-size, brand new futon which was handcrafted in Vermont. Bedding is provided. There is room for one or two other people if they don't mind sleeping on the floor. The views from the windows are of the pond or the Green Mountains.
All dishes, utensils, pots and pans, dish soap, are provided.
There is no electricity. Light is provided by oil lamps, which we will show you how to use.
This is not a place to just crash. This is an experience in and of itself. One of our guests recently described it as "a little piece of Sylvan Paradise" .

The vibe at Casita de Sol y Luna
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
If you're even slightly thinking about booking this place... I'm here to tell you just do it now. Abby is a top notch host and this cabin is the most relaxing, comforting space I have ever stayed in. We stayed here for a few nights on one of the coldest weekends of the year. The wood stove was cranking and there were plenty of cozy blankets to keep warm. If you want a renewing retreat, this is the spot. Connect with nature, finish your book, disconnect from your day-to-day routine. Highly recommend! Thank you so much Abby + Keith.
Casita de Sol y Luna is a wonderful magical place that (even in the New England cold) charmed the hell out of my bf and I. The solitude is wonderful and the cabin is so comfortable and cozy. Leave your camping stove at home, you can cook right on the wood burning stove. We will definitely be returning. Thanks Abby & Keith for a wonderful stay!
Side note- Isabel and Arthur (resident goats) are amazing and sweet. Be sure to stop by to give them a pet.
This stay exceeded our expectations! The goats next to the cabin are very cute, Keith and Abigail are very friendly and have games like cricket, badminton etc to play! Keith also prepared a bonfire for us during evening time! The cabin is small but big enough (we slept there with three: 1 on a cod we brought, two in the pull out bed). We would definitely recommend this stay to others!
