Our six regular campsites and one canvas tent site all offer stunning views of the Canaan Mountains. The campsites offer secluded wilderness camping experiences. Each sight includes many indigenous trees and plants, campfire, picnic table, and tent spaces. The views, hike, and nearby attractions are spectacular. There is one port-a-potty restroom, but no water facilities on our campground. However, 1 mile away, Maxwell Park provides fresh spring water. Please pack out your own trash.
Campsite #1 We have changed the location of campsite 1. It is now located at the top of our campground road. Hooray! Tucked back in a private little location. Also has 1-2 tent spots. Allows for 1-2 parking spaces.
Campsite #2 is located just as you pull into the campground past the cable gate. It is large enough for 3 tents with one car parking. Additional parking at entrance if needed.
Campsite #3 is just up the road a little. You park and cross over a small wooded pathway and take your first right. We call this one the Peninsula. You will have to book it and see why. It will accommodate 2-3 tents with one parking space. Additional parking at entrance. (Tip: If you have two groups and want to be able to gather together easily, we recommend booking sites 3 and 5. )
Campsite #5 is our largest campsite. It has room for 6-8 tents. If you have a larger group this is the one to go with. Park, cross the wooden pathway and take a left. Two vehicle parking spaces near the site, additional parking at the camp entrance.(Tip: If you have two groups and want to be able to gather together easily, we recommend booking sites 3 and 5. )
Campsite #6 or known as the ledge, is just up the road from #5 on your left. It has a secluded little rock ledge perfect for early morning sunrises or late afternoon sunsets. Peaceful indeed. Accommodates 1-2 tents and one parking space.
Campsite #7 feels very similar to site 6. Just past #6 on your left. Private tent sites and also access to a lookout ledge for enjoying the scenery. Accommodates 1-2 tents and one parking space.
Tent Site 1 - see link to Water Canyon Cliffside Tent 1. It's an awesome canvas tent with a balcony porch.

What an amazing place! The campsite is nice and spread out with views that will blow your mind. Hiking around the campsite all you could ask for. I would recommend planning a couple nights as there is so much to do and see.
These camp spots are tucked away in the most gorgeous area! You are so close to places like Zion and Bryce, but only a few minutes walk down the road from the campsite are the most amazing hikes! Beautiful red and orange boulders and mountains, and if you hike far enough through the Water Canyon trailhead, you will come to slot canyons and water falls and the most spectacular views of the land. Our campsite was a perfect spot to sleep at, make breakfast, go for the hike, and then make dinner by the fire at night surrounded by the beautiful lands. A place we would stay at again in a heartbeat!
Great location for access to awesome areas. We absolutely loved our campsite and would definitely go back to explore more of the area.
Be aware that Hilldale, UT is a different community. The Fundamental LDS Church dominates the area and there are lots of strange buildings and oddly dressed people. As the info section says...google it...
Beautiful campsite that's just half an hour away from Zion. It's nice to have a camping option that's a bit away from the crowds. Each site was far enough for privacy and the views were great
We loved our campsite (#7)! We weren't at the campsite as much as we thought we would be, because we went to Zion, but what a beautiful setting to come back to and RELAX. Surrounded by beauty, with the most serene environment. We loved our stay, and if we are ever in the area again, we'd stay here!
Great spot that's not far from Zion! I loved that it wasn't super crowded and even on Memorial Day weekend when every site was booked, we had enough privacy from the other groups at other sites. The views are spectacular from the campsite and on the drive up.
The parking spots are also super conveniently located so that the walk to and from the car to load/unload isn't terrible.
There's no may not be a toilet, but the trees provide enough privacy so it isn't super awkward to do your business.
I'd definitely stay here again!
Water Canyon Cliffside was indeed one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed to camp at. Stunning canyon views, and for us, very private sites. There was one other group there at the same time, so it was peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. The host, Brad, was incredibly responsive and helpful during (and after) our stay when we were trying to find some lost gear!
We went during dry season, but was very glad to have our Subaru to get up to the site! AWD was required to get up past the initial rocky driveway. Also note the review about the bordering town of Hildale as it is certainly not your run-of-the mill city, so read up before you head on down.
Such an incredible space, we hope to come back again and hike some of the canyons around the sites.
The location is incredibly beautiful and convenient to Zion. Water Canyon is a gorgeous hike. The campsites are private, with dense vegetation between them. This time of year a lot of cedar gnats are out, which are annoying but don't seem to bite. If you're looking for a rustic escape, this is it.
