We were upgraded to the cottage which was magnificent. There was no extra charge for this upgrade. The cottage was so quaint. The host was very nice. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you.

Hidden gem in southern Utah!

Red Hen Gardens

Dana and Bill were incredible hosts! I felt so at home in their place. Dana was always asking if there was anything I needed, and she let me use their washer/dryer to do some much-needed laundry. I loved having farm-fresh eggs for breakfast! Dana and Bill have separate living quarters attached to the main/guest house, so I had the kitchen, bathroom, etc all to myself since there were no other guests. They’re always just a knock away if you need anything. I had everything I needed for a great stay and would love to stay again!

Dana and Bill are amazing hosts. Their property is one of a kind!! We immediately felt welcome! Close to Kolob canyons and cedar city, the location is perfect! A true gem!

Amazing experience

That’s a place that since you left you only think when you’ll come back to visit again. When we will have our own B&B that’s exactly how we want our guests to feel when they leave. Amazing experience.

We loved our stay here at Red Hen Gardens! The hosts Bill and Dana are so kind and welcoming, and we enjoyed delicious eggs and fresh produce from their garden. We truly felt at home. Their property is covered in unique art, much of it created by Dana herself, which gives it a whimsical and magical atmosphere. My only complaint is that our stay was too short - would love to come back one day!

A lovely West Zion hideaway

Dana’s place was an incredible place to land in the middle of a very busy road trip. When we booked, we had hoped to spend the evening in the school bus picture, but it turned out to no longer be possible due to new local ordinances. That said, Dana has created a beautiful and private space that is functionally half of a standard home for us to enjoy, including a working kitchen, two baths, and a lovely garden complete with trampoline and fire pit. It wasn’t what we thought we were booking but ended up being perfect. Also, it should be noted that Dana’s house has served as a local refuge for LGBT teens in need and my partner and I felt very welcomed and supported as gay hip campers.

Lovely

Dana and Bill were amazing hosts. They gave great advice about hiking in the area and information about the trails. The RV was cool at night and the bed was very comfy. Everything in the kitchen/ bathroom area was nice and clean. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Best place to GLAMP EVER!!

We had an incredible time at Red Hen Gardens!!! Dana and Bill are amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home. The grounds are fun, bright and welcoming! The kids had a blast on the trampoline, playing and sleeping!!! It really was like a trip to grandmas house and getting to play in her backyard!! It was totally glamping...camping with the amenities of home. Made our trip a very memorable one and we will definitely be returning next time we are in the area!! Thank you for the amazing time and good friendships!!

Merveilleuse semaine !!!

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine chez Dana et son mari. Une semaine qui restera un moment fort de notre grand voyage en famille aux USA ! Leur maison est absolument charmante, un endroit très chaleureux, coloré et poétique à l’image de Dana, qui est une très belle personne et qui nous a accueilli de manière adorable, moi, mon mari et nos quatre filles ! Nous nous sommes sentis si bien dans la partie de la maison dédiée aux hôtes qui comporte une cuisine (très bien équipée), une salle de bain et un même un chaleureux coin salon, c’était vraiment parfait !! Et notre petite caravane au fond du jardin était super pour nous 6, les nuits sont douces, pas trop chaudes et les lits étonnamment confortables pour ce petit espace qui était un vrai petit cocon !!! Et bien sûr le joli jardin si vert, si luxuriant et fleuri de Dana, le géant trampoline (les filles y ont passé des heures !!), les chaises, petites tables, fauteuils, jolies guirlandes lumineuses... tout est fait pour recevoir les hôtes de la plus belle et agréable des manières ! Nous y avons fêté les 5 ans de notre dernière fille, et cela restera un magnifique souvenir, avec Dana auprès de nous ! Nous espérons beaucoup pouvoir y retourner un jour !!! Et New Harmony est idéalement placé avec beaucoup de magnifiques balades à faire tout près... un gros coup de cœur !!!! Un grand merci pour tout Dana et Bill ! À bientôt !

Just Beautiful!

Our stay at Dana's was absolutely lovely! The place is so cute with roaming chickens, an inground trampoline, and a full indoor kitchen for access. We read in the indoor den when it was just a tad too hot outside and it was very comfortable. We felt very welcome and safe the entire time! Her husband even made us a fire and sat down for some nice conversation one night!

Peaceful and different experience

We absolutely loved staying at this place. The hosts Dana made us feel comfortable. We came here from LA to do hiking in Zion. This place is better than camping as you get the homely feel and the whole place is so beautiful to stay. Dana has painted and decorated the bus, house, surroundings. They provided us with fresh eggs, bread, coffee, fully functional kitchen, clean bathroom with a lot of supplies. Their house had a homely 1800s feel to it. There are chickens and a garden with a view of the mountains. It is a perfect place to chill even with kids, as they had a swing set, trampoline, crayons, lot of play area.

Most amazing place!

This is the most amazing place you will ever stay at! The hosts Bill and Dana are incredibly kind, helpful and interesting people that I really enjoyed talking to. We got a lot of good tips of things to do in the area whole staying there. Amenities were great, clean kitchen and bathroom, and a BBQ outside aswell. Bed was supercomfortable and when we stayed in july the temperature was perfect in the bus at night. It’s actually not that hot in the area they live in. This place is also really close (like 10 min) to Kolob Canyons, in my opinion the most beautiful part of Zion NP! You have to go there atleast to the lookout to watch the sunset, it is great! (You can of course also go to ”regular Zion NP” it’s like a 50 min drive). We loved staying here, it really felt like a home away from home straight away! Thank you Bill and Dana!

Red Hen Gardens

Bill and Dana were great hosts! They were so kind and super accommodating, and let the dog hang out at the house while we went out hiking. They also gave us great recommendations for hikes, and the place was super clean and homey. Couldn’t recommend their place more.

Perfect Stay for Camping Feel

The host and the place was spectacular. My husband and I were so pleased with the location in relation to Zion Nat'l Park/ shopping/eating/gas stations The host provided any additional information we needed about the town and ZNP. Great bathroom with shower and kitchen with all amenities and more available as you need. I would recommend anyone who loves a perfect mix between camping and in-home feel. Will definitely be going back!

Awesome experience!

We stayed in Bill and Dana's camper for a couples trip and it was perfect! The camper has two little nooks so it was great for sleeping four people. We even came in late (around 3am) from our road trip and Bill and Dana kindly left the light on for us. They were more than welcoming and generously shared their property with us. We enjoyed the fresh eggs and hospitality and loved meeting Lady, their sweet dog. Thank you for an incredible trip!

What a dream!

Red Hen Gardens - Sunshine Room

Dana and her husband are such incredible people - and the place is like a dream! Our friends and I had the Sunshine Room, The Mardi Gras retreat, and the Glamper - they were all wonderful! It’s a dreamland for my toddler and me alike! We all can’t wait to go back. Dana was beyond beyond accommodating, it’s so beautiful to know these people and this place exists in the world.

Amazing!Dana and Bill are wonderful

Dana and Bill are wonderful people! and of course the sweet lady (dog). We love all the spaces of the house, the kitchen and the bathroom were super clean, Dana gave us every day fresh eggs and some veggies from her garden. We also have a great night with them and other guests around the fire 🔥 it was a lovely night. We love how the house is full of artistic details in everywhere, but really the best of everything were them, We can't wait to come back next year and see them again! Thanks for everything you are the best!

What can I say that hasn't already been said about these fantastic hosts? As a family with 2 children we couldn't have asked for a more ideal Hipcamp. For the kids: inground trampoline, tree swing, chickens, a friendly dog, hand drawn coloring sheetsade by Grandma Dana, a stock tank pool filled when we arrive and of course Grandma Dana who truly welcomed the children and made them feel at home. We also really appreciated the freedom to use a full size refrigerator, bathroom and living room designated for their guests.

Great place to stay!

We loved our stay at The Red Hen! Dana and Bill were great hosts, and the whole experience was more than we could possibly have imagined. Enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast and go to sleep with the neighborhood farm animals singing you to sleep. Just a short drive to Zion National Park and worth it for the at-home stay.

Wonderful stay with Grandma Dana

The host was absolutely wonderful, helping with anything you could imagine! Lovely as a solo female traveler to have such a warm person to return to at night. Facilities excellent, including a full kitchen, bathroom, fridge, etc. to use. There is a trampoline outside, along with lots of great seating for just hanging out after a long day. Additionally, I have never seen more spectacular sunsets that I did by walking down the street from this property. Cannot recommend more highly to future visitors!!

Wonderful Experience

We LOVED staying at Grandma Dana’s!!! We wished we had planned to spend more than one night. Our stay was one of the highlights of our trip to Utah and the National Parks. Our children loved the chickens, the trampoline, and sleeping in the trailer. The trailer was very cozy and we all had a perfect night’s sleep. Dana was so generous- sharing fresh eggs and delicious goodies from her garden. She even sent us on the road with bags of fresh vegetables which we enjoyed throughout our trip. We highly recommend staying here and we hope to return again soon!
