This is a completely vacant and fenced-in property right by the Provo River and the city park.   It's surrounded by trees and the smell and sound of the rushing river.

You'll have access to the private driveway, the gated entry, and you can place your tent or camper anywhere on the lot.  There is a covered steel carport you can use to park under or set your tent up.

This is a great place to crash for the night on your way through the area or to set up for a few days of adventure!  We're steps from the Provo River trail that takes bikers and joggers to Utah Lake or up into Provo Canyon.

The river is just 100 feet away!  You can make your way to the edge and sit with your feet in the fresh flowing water.  The park is heavily wooded with lots of private spaces for meditation or exploration.  The small duck pond is home to many beautiful wild ducks that will be happy to accept your food offerings.

*please note we are close to a train track and you will most likely hear the train sound in the night.  We are also in proximity to a freeway which is not visible but sometimes able to be heard.

*The front gate does close but does not lock.  The front entry is away from the park so there isn't any traffic.

*Toilets are in the city park and are usually open, though they may close for the winter season.  There is a park just a little further down the trail that also has bathrooms.  It is better to plan on no toilet services during the winter.

*Drinking water is NOT available anymore (we turned off water for the winter).

*The fenced in area is 1/2 acre.  The city park is at least 10 acres.  The sleeping/camping area is not visible from the playground/pavillions/duck pond, but it IS from the park's parking lot and the Provo River Trail.  So patrons coming to the park and trail can see you, but I promise they don't care about you being on the lot.  Provo residents are very friendly.

*There is one streetlamp that lights the bridge going across the river to the bathrooms.  Other than that, it's very dark, so bring a good flashlight.  Because of the lack of lighting at night, it feels very private.  Some guests have reported it feels sketchy at night which is understandable for someone to feel when in new surroundings.  Yes, people use the path and sometimes the parking lot during the night, but we're in a very safe area compared to other cities.

*There are 2 spots available on the property- the north side and the south side.  First come, first served.  The entire property can be booked for a large group but if you book just one space, you might have neighbors.

*ABSOLUTELY NO parties, no drinking, no drugs, no loud music.

****THIS LOT IS PERFECT for you if you:

-are boondocking (dry camping) with a self-contained vehicle

-need a quick and easy and safe place to sleep as you make a road trip stop. (we're close to gas and the freeway)

-have dogs and have a had time finding a space that will take them

-have read all the transparency in the listing and think it'd be a good fit

****THIS LOT is NO perfect for you if you:

-Are recreational camping and want a mountain or remote setting. Remember- this is within city limits.

-haven't read everything above.  Because guests who don't read a listing all the way through but still make a booking may be disappointed.

Sarah was really nice and quick to respond to any questions we had. I loved that the lot is all fenced in so we were able to let our dogs run about. When I stayed there, the bathrooms at the city park were out of service, so we had to walk down the path to the other park. This wasn't bad during the day but felt a little sketchy after dark. Bring a flashlight and some pepper spray, you'll be alright. Can't beat the price!

As described, this is a lot separated from a city park and its parking lot only by a chain link fence. I’m guessing the lot once had a house on it and one day will again, but for now it’s strewn with bits and pieces of building materials, with animal droppings everywhere, maybe from the ducks in the city park. If you’re good with all that, this is good value for somewhere half an hour’s walk from downtown. If you’re hesitating, best find somewhere else.

This is a good spot if you're passing through Salt Lake City and need a place to park your camper for the night. Sarah was very helpful and responsive. The rate was low and we got in late and left early so it was great for this purpose.
We stayed on a Friday night, so there were lots of people walking the trail that is along one side of the property (separated by a chain link fence). There's lots of visibility from park-goers, making this not the most private location. The bathroom is also a bit of a trek, especially when it's dark out!
It is right in the middle of Provo, which was great for us as we needed to do some grocery shopping the next day. Anyway, Sarah was great and the space was functional for its purpose!
