We are just minutes from a grand array of state and national parks, national monuments, national forests and many diverse wilderness areas. Because of the pleasant weather and the wide range of recreational activity found here, visitors often return and become permanent residents of our community. In addition to the many National Park and recreational options nearby, guests can hike trails right from their private porch ranging from flat to rolling and heart pumping, challenging climbs to the red rocked cliffs.
We are intensely committed to our environment and our planet and we recycle as much as possible (paper, glass, metal and plastic) and generate most of our energy via solar electric and thermal on-site. If you are interested in seeing any of the equipment, just ask and we are happy to demonstrate the systems.
Sit back and enjoy the amazing views from your 40' x 6' covered porch or gather around the wood burning fire pit which is available for your use weather permitting and whenever open fire restrictions are not in place. Please inquiry before using.
Please note that the entire Cabin and property are strictly non-smoking & non-vaping. There are no options for smoking here. If you are a smoker, please consider renting a different property.

Easy access and great amenities!
Really enjoyed having the convenience and accessibility to the city nearby and all the beautiful places to visit within a short distance while still feeling private and away from the rest of the world. It isn’t a feeling of seclusion like in the woods or something but still very much separate from others and could enjoy making a fire outdoors and facing at the stars while the dogs roamed free and we didn’t see other people around us.
The only negative thing was right at the end when my 81 year old mother took our dogs out for a walk while we were getting packed up and she was stopped by the cleaning person and rudely told to go back because we needed to get out because it was past Check out time and she needed to get in to clean...even though the paperwork inside the cabin showed that the check out time was later and that we weren’t over the time. Even if we had been over the time, there was no need for her to speak to my elderly mother like that.
Other than that the cabin was awesome with plenty of everything, some extras (there was a puzzle, balls to toss around with the dogs, some spices, cooking supplies, etc), comfortable beds, and everything seemed new. They obviously take great care of the place and want it to be nice for the guests.
By the way, did you know that the front door was wide open when we arrived? It was fine, just didn’t know if that was the norm or not. And we had a critter-maybe a rat or other type of small animal in the bottom drawer of the nightstand...but heck we are out in nature, that kind of thing happens. The dogs sniffed it out right away and we chased it outside. It probably had just wandered in- there was no evidence that it had hung out there for any length of time! Not a big deal.
