Super great place! We brought our RV and found a spigot for water and some shady juniper trees. There's lots of area to roam. Better get out there before this recently listed hidden jewel gets more popular. The new owners have allocated places to park for RVs. We had some great hikes in the near by mountains, not nearly as crowded as the nearby wasatch front which was great for us.
Outdoor shower is everything!!
Summer in Jtree... hot AF. Be forewarned 🥵😂
That being said, we wanted to break up our drive back from Flagstaff to LA, and this spot turned out to be the magical reprieve and final night of our month long road trip. This place is right off the road and we had it all to ourselves. The outdoor shower is EVERYTHING. It kept us cool throughout the still hot summer night. It didn’t get below 100 degrees til midnight, and my trailer doesn’t have AC, but getting wet and sitting in the desert breeze was delightful. The clear skies, abundant stars and bright moon were the perfect backdrop to our final farewell to the road.
**also FLUSH TOILETS!! The porta potty houses actual flush toilets!
As long as you don’t plan on spending the summer days at this location, the heat is manageable. I would definitely come back here during cooler months for star gazing and chill nights. Drive into Joshua Tree during the day with your air conditioned vehicle.
Our host was as communicative as we required, she wasn’t on-site, but I imagine if we had needed anything she would have been on it. This place is perfect for independent travelers who like privacy and open space.
