After several visits to the cabin, we absolutely fell in love with the place!  We were lucky enough to purchase it in the summer of 2018 from some friends and want to open it up to others!   Built in the 1970s as a mail-order "kit cabin", Argyle AFrame is a well preserved, charming off grid cabin.  The land was previously used for shepherds and there's an old shepherds cabin on the property (currently being used as a wood shed).  There is a lot of wildlife in the area, and deer have created some gorgeous hiking trails around the property. Learn more about this land: Argyle A-Frame is a remote, off grid cabin in the mountains of Utah, just 2-hours from Salt Lake City.  Situated on 20 acres and surrounded by tall pines and aspens, Argyle A-frame is the perfect escape from the noise and chaos of everyday life.  Summer activities on the property include archery, splitting wood, hiking, horse shoes or just cozying up inside and reading a book by the wood-burning stove!  We also supply some board games and books for evenings inside.  In the winter months, there is great skiing and snowboarding around the cabin as well. Life at the cabin is simple, but that means you'll go without basic, modern luxuries like running water, plumbing and electricity.  The bathroom is an outhouse and the main water source is a 7-gallon pressurized sprayer that can be filled at a local (seasonal) spring! For doing dishes or even the occasional shower, it gets the job done and adds to the off-grid experience.  Light is provided by a basic LED solar kit as well as battery and gas powered lanterns.   The cabin has four beds (two on the main level and two in the loft) and can sleep 8 total.  Cooking can all be done on a gas stove and small oven, so you can make a lot of the meals you would at home.  The wood-burning stove presents some opportunities for cooking if you're up for the challenge!  We supply all of the dishes, utensils and accessories you'd need, including cast iron pans a 12-cup percolator and multiple pour-overs (cabins and coffee go hand in hand). Cell phone service is hit or miss.  AT&T does pretty well, with Verizon being spotty.  However, we recommend taking time to disconnect from technology and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the forest.   Being so remote, there is nothing in the area other than some other cabins and mother nature.  The nearest gas station, restaurant or bar is over 30 minutes away, so come prepared with everything you'd need for a weekend in the woods!  This includes a good cooler and plenty of ice to keep your food (ahem, cocktails) cold! Access in the summer is simple, allowing you to drive right up to the front door! The road in is dirt and can be slippery/challenging if muddy so please check the weather ahead of time. Access in the winter is done by snowmobile, snowshoe or skis.  It's a moderate 3.2 mile trek from the parking area on a (usually) packed snow road.  In the winter, water can be obtained by melting snow in the supplied pots on the wood-burning stove! We LOVE the time we spend at the cabin and know you will too!   Please reach out with any questions!

Adorable off grid A-Frame cabin
3 gals in a toyota!
Plan to bring your own linens as Rich couldn't guarantee the cleanliness of the quilts and blankets that are up there. Otherwise, a beautiful and lovely remote stay with all the amenities of cabin life that you require. Bring paper plates and bowls also if you don't want to wash dishes with the limited water you bring.

Perfect Stay
Rich's cabin and the surrounding property was absolutely beautiful. The directions he gave us were clear and easy to follow, and the cabin was amazing. I got this cabin as a surprise (late) Christmas present for my boyfriend and it was so perfect. The cabin was clean, warm, and adorable and I look forward to coming back soon!

Adorable off grid A-Frame cabin
10/10 will rebook
One of the greatest stays I’ve had at a Hipcamp spot. Absolutely loved the canon and they’ve done a great job setting this up as an experience rather than just a spot to stay. Plenty of activities, everything is thoroughly detailed in the instruction manual as well and Rich is great with communicating directions/information/instruction. I would certainly recommend this to anyone and everyone that wants to disconnect from the continual bombardment of every day life. The nearest 24 convenience/gas station is about 30 minutes away so be sure to stock up on water and supplies, you won’t want to leave the spot anyways.

Fun Winter Escape
The cabin was a great winter escape! The snowshoe/ski in & out were beautiful & made for a fun adventure- the dogs absolutely loved tromping through all the snow. The cabin itself was stocked with games, lanterns, kitchen necessities, propane for cooking, & wood for the stove. The beds were comfy, too. We would highly recommend & would love to come back in the summer ourselves!
