Wow!! Just wow! This site is absolutely out of this world! We couldn't even believe our eyes when we pulled in. Scott and Ken greeted us instantly when we pulled in and showed us around the property. They we so so welcoming and we the absolutely perfect hosts. We loved chatting with them about the property and their story and history with the site. Their hospitality was enough to make us want to go back! But that was just the beginning of this wonderful stay. Scott and Ken showed us the barn first, and holy moly was it out of this world!! With swanky jazzy music playing out of the speakers and the entire place lit and decorated like a little speak easy we were ready to take off out hiking boots and put on our dancing shoes! Next were the tents, which in line with everything else on this property, were of course out of this world! They were so beautifully decorated, came equipped with lights, heat, and electric outlets, and had the best bed ever! We slept like babies in the beautiful homey tent! And then there was the bathroom, which was also absolutely out of this world! It housed two separate private showers with two sinks and mirrors as well as a flushing toilet. If there was a best camp bathroom award, this place would take the cake! Finally, there was the property itself, tucked away from the main road in a quaint little town, it was secluded and peaceful. The yard area was so beautiful. It had a wooden deck with loungers for catching some rays. There was a pond right on site which was home to the most adorable family of ducks and ducklings, and then there was a lovely pasture with a few cows, goats, and a horse! The surrounding views were wonderful, and best of all the stars were unflipping believable!! We were able to see the entire milky-way and so so much more! All in all this place was just incredible. We cannot wait to go back and stay again!!
Wow! This place is so great!! Steve was such a gracious host, he greeted us right when we arrived and showed us his beautiful property that included multiple flat tent spaces in amongst the garden, a bathroom on site, and best of all the creek that runs along the back of his property. Steve was playing a gig in town the night we stayed so he graciously invited us to watch, and we are glad that we did!! We had such a great time getting to watch Steve jam with his fellow musician friends. They were all so welcoming and happy to talk and share with us!! In addition to getting to hang with the local musicians in town, we also got a chance to plug our guitar into an amp and make a little music of our own right on site! We also found time to lounge in the creek swimming holes before the show, which was such a treat when it came to beating the California summer heat! The property was private and secluded and the only neighbors we seemed to notice were the donkeys right next door that provided our all natural alarm call in the morning. All in all this was a fabulous stay with a fabulous host!! We hope to be back soon!
Wow wow wow!!! This place is out of this world incredible! The site is so beautiful it seemed like we were living in a dream. The tent itself is so wonderful, with lovely sitting chairs, and an absolutely fabulous bed, plus room for multiple people to sleep which is nice for a bit larger crew. As if the luxury tent wasn't enough there is also the amazing swimming hole on site with the best view. It didn't stop there though, the outdoor kitchen was also incredible, and very thoroughly stoked with pots, pans, and other utensils. Right next to the wonderful kitchen was a lovely dinning area that included an awesome eclectic piano which made for a beautiful, music filled evening. Finally, the incredible outdoor bathroom and tub! The shower was amazing, with hot water on demand and all open air made it feel ten times better. All in all this place is a secluded getaway dream! We hope to be back soon!!
Wow! Just wow! This place is out of this world. We were greated by Lisa and all of her sacred rescue dogs as soon as we pulled in. She graciously gave us a full tour of her property, including two ponds and a lively farm animal pen and horse corral. The passion that Lisa has for the land is evident in every aspect of her property. Her eclectic decorations both in the living spaces and around the property give the site a groovy, well loved vibe. We stayed in the gypsy caravan which was incredible! It had a table and chairs, a small but thorough kitchen, a bathroom with a shower if needed, and the best part... world's comfiest bed! We slept like babies the sheets were so soft and the space was so homey! All in all this was an absolutely incredible stay! So incredible we didn't want to ever leave. Lisa's hospitality was truly unmatched and we hope to be back very soon!
Wow, what a cool little spot on the California coast! We had a great host, who was excited to share all the awesome spots in the cute little town of Point Arena. The area itself was absolutely phenomenal, with a 6 minute drive down to Pelican Bluff, an incredible coastal hiking spot, and about 3 minutes down to an awesome river and swimming spot. There is also a historic lighthouse in town with another phenomenal coastal hike just down the road. In addition to the town, the site itself was quite nice. There was a big group camp area with a garden and a fire ring in the center that fostered a friendly, neighborly atmosphere at camp. The bathroom was nice and the shower was a special perk to have. Sequoia explained to us all the plans he had for the site yet to come, and this place seems like somewhere we'll need to come back to check out all he does with the site in the future! All in all this is a great place, and definitely a worthy stop along the California coast!
Nice site by the creek and close proximity to Yosemite National Park. The site is set up nicely with picnic tables, two cute lounge chairs, and hanging linen curtains for some privacy near the river. All in all we had a good stay. Heavy machinery on site woke us up early in the morning. Other than that it was nice!
What a lovely little campsite, and within an hours drive into Yosemite National Park this place was a no brainer. The showers were great, and the hot water was truly hot, always a plus! The tent sites were well spread out and each one had a perfectly flat space to pitch a tent. Probably the biggest plus of this site though was the awesome outdoor kitchen. There was ample counter space to prep food and they had just about every cooking device a camper may need (a propane camp stove, a clay oven, a charcoal grill/smoker, etc.). Additionally they had a compost and recycling available which we always appreciate as environmentally conscious campers. I will say it was definitely a shared campsite feel, and did not have quite the privacy and seclusion of a single tent site, but if you're up for meeting other rad campers, and vibing on the group camp life then this is the place for you!
Wow, Bethany was such a welcoming and gracious host. Her two boys were a hoot as well, and you could tell they were all very excited for our stay. The backyard was every kid's dream, and a private camper's paradise. It was secluded and wooded and tucked away in a private very peaceful neighborhood. The only noise to wake you up in the morning were the birds and the squirrels crawling around the treehouse. While there was plenty of room for tent camping if campers wish to bring a larger group, the main draw to this place is definitely the incredible treehouse. Set up with a bed on the loft level and lanterns hung all around it truly was like sleeping in something out of a fairytale. There was also a reading chair and carpet on the lower level if you wish to just relax amongst the trees. At the site Bethany also had a picnic table set up which was fabulous for dinner and breakfast prep, as well as an incredible fire pit and a full stock of firewood. Additionally, there was a back gated entrance to the yard so you could pull your vehicle right into the yard for easy access to all the camping essentials. All in all this was a great site, and her two boys really made our whole visit a joy!
Wow!! This site is the ultimate desert oasis. Sam and Dave greeted us right when we arrived and gave us an extensive tour of their amazing property. They explained all the work they had already put into the land to make it what it was and all the work they still intended to do to make this place the ultimate must stay campground. The pair could not have been friendlier or more welcoming and they bent over backwards to make sure that we were comfortable and had absolutely everything we might need. Beyond the hospitality from our hosts, the site itself was absolutely out of this world. With two ponds and natural underground springs, this place was crawling with life unseen most anywhere else in the area. From the wonderful trees that provided ample shade at every campsite on the property, to the croaking frogs in the pond, it was hard to believe this place was in the middle of a desert. The campsites were big enough for large group camps, but each individual tent nook still felt private and shady. The sites each had a communal fire ring, which was nice when the sun crawled below the horizon, as well as a spigot and hose to put out the fires when finished. The bathroom on site was lovely, with a hot water shower and flushing toilet it felt luxury as far as camping is concerned. The garden was just starting to fruit and I'm sure there will be lots of delicious fresh produce down the road. As if the day time views weren't enough, the stars were also out of this world! With a 20 minute drive to Joshua Tree National Park down the road, and lots of hiking and exploring on the property itself this place is a no brainer if you are ever staying anywhere in the area! We hope to be back very soon!!
Wow! This was one of the coolest campsites we have ever stayed at. The second you drive up the hill you are immersed in the eclectic world of the recalibration station. With neat eclectic pieces spread around this site such as an old VW bug and the most adorable rustic outdoor kitchen I have ever seen this site is a most stay any time you are in the Joshua Tree area. Speaking of Joshua Tree, another amazing benefit of this site is that the national park is just a short 10 minute drive down the road. As if it couldn't get any better, there is also an incredible outdoor lounge area right next to the kitchen on site that features the most comfortable couch bed ever, a giant bean bag, and a recliner chair. In addition to that they also have an extensive dining area made up of an eclectic array of mismatch table and chairs. In addition to the awesome amenities provided at this site, the views are also incredible. The site is a little ways up the mountain side, so you have incredible views across Joshua Tree and the surrounding mountains. Sunrise was absolutely incredible and I could not recommend getting up for it more highly. Additionally, the stars were out of this world! Michael and Christy were very friendly hosts, and you could tell they cared very much about making us comfortable and enjoying our stay. Overall, our stay was absolutely incredible and I could not recommend a campsite more highly. Hope to be be back soon!
