Tara and Painted Acres were just what I expected and more. The farm is amazing! There are bountiful gorgeous and friendly animals to visit with and she’s doing such good deeds rescuing and caring for them! I wish I lived closer, I would visit all the time. Can’t say enough good things about her property and her, she was very cool.
Directions took us to a guys private home and it was incorrect. Luckily the correct location was across the street but it was alarming bc we arrived late and were tired. Otherwise, everything was great. Gorgeous property and Bear is great!!
Very off the beaten path, we didn’t realize how rustic the “road” was and only had 2wheel drive so the sandy parts were a little hairy. Also there could be branches in the road if there was a storm so you have to proceed with caution. We couldn’t get our van up the hill to the actual camp (afraid to try) so we slept at the bottom/start of the driveway (which is also hard to spot but the directions were correct - it’s the middle of that road). Host was helpful!
Camp was fine for one night! No emus and I hoped to see them! The “sites” aren’t that clearly labeled but turns out you can camp anywhere your car fits. The surrounding area was a little scary looking, lots of buildings in different states of ruin. The host or guy who met us was pleasant and welcoming! Nothing bad to say really, was my first time camping so wasn’t sure what to expect.
