My husband and I really enjoyed staying at Jackson Station. It was a great base camp for the Sleepy Bear area. Even though Crystal River is closer, we traveled 30 minutes to kayak the Platte River and shopped, dined, and swam in Glen Arbor which was less than 15 minutes from camp. If only there was more time, we could have biked the Heritage Trail and hiked the Sleepy Bear Dunes.
We camped in site 1. It was very roomy and I loved being surrounded by the pines. The night was quiet and perfect for star gazing. The site was clean and welcoming. There was a bucket for carrying fire wood and also a line for hanging towels. We also found it a great spot to hang our hammock.
