The Retreat Campsites are situated on land owned by the Red Spirit Retreat Center. The beautiful wooded land is perfect for walking in. The stars are brilliant little diamonds, and in early summer the fireflies float up from the prairie into the trees. It is pretty quiet except for the birds and the bullfrogs and your own flickering campfire. In the spring the fruit trees can be seen blooming across the fields. Straw is grown nearer to the tent and cut and baled midsummer. The farm buildings are off in the distance but have gleaming white buildings and silver silos. Guests may walk wherever they like on trails or bushwhack through the forests of the Red Spirit Retreat center while leaving other guests to their personal seclusion.
Each campsite is unique.
The Lulabelle Glamor Tent is a fully furnished glamping tent campsite. It has a very comfortable full bed, oriental carpeting, and a wood stove for chilly fall night. There is a separate shade tent, with a good sized propane griddle, table and chairs and basic kitchen needs. An old deer blind has been repurposed into a private toilet with a hand washing station. The tent is located on the top of a prairie overlooking a beautiful farm, fields orchards and forests. There are two parking places for the Lulabelle Glamor Tent. When the land is dry, guests may park immediately next to the back door of the tent for easy loading. If the road is muddy there is a second walk-in option nearby.
The rustic campsites each have their own personalities. The Pond Campsite is a in a sylvan glade next to the pond and creek, with parking at the campsite. The Prairie Campsite is closest to parking, located on a flat place at the bottom of the hill next to the forest. The Edges Campsite is inside of the forest but on the edge nearest to the farm fields. The Deep Woods Campsite is surrounded by the forest. All campsites have their own private toilets, fire pits, and at least three gallons of water. We hope that our guests have a truly relaxing stay.
