Overall: This is a perfect site for groups and families with children. We would definitely choose this place again!
Location: The Staley farm is in a convenient location off of Winlock-Vader Road. There is a large field for camping and playing, and several trees if you prefer shade. Best of all, there is a large creek which is quite safe for children to play in (our children played for many hours!). There were no mosquitoes or biting flies at all, but a few bees near where we had our picnic. As one reviewer noted, there is a train that comes through once in a while, but we did not find this to be an issue. There are apple trees, plum trees, and a few kinds of berry bushes which we were welcome to pick.
Hosts: The Staleys were very gracious and welcoming, especially to the children. They showed us around the farm, helped the children feed the goats, and even helped them pick a few eggs and veggies. They even had a box of life jackets for borrowing. At night, the Staleys allowed us to use their brick fire pit (they also have mobile fire pits, though we didn't need to use one).
Facilities: We didn't use the shower, but noted that they do have a nice setup with hot water. The bathroom tent was a bit small for larger folks, but it all worked out okay (I think they are considering a more permanent structure, which will be nice). The Staleys have mobile fire pits for borrowing, and plenty of wood (we did not use these, but they were offered to us free of charge). Overall, their farm is beautifully cared for, and we felt quite welcome.
