The Blanco river is one of the most beautiful Texas rivers and I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to camp in such a gorgeous space with a little piece of the river all to ourselves for the weekend. What a DREAM.
Sara met us when we arrived and showed us around. She told us all about the site and gave us some recommendations for sunrise and sunset. She was super sweet and thoughtful! (thanks Sara!) They have obviously put a lot of time and love into creating this space.
The site was STUNNING, had ample shade and super clean grass to set our tent up on (yay no rocks!)
It was mostly enclosed by a fence so we were happy to let our dogs off leash or put them into the dog run if needed.
This site would be great for any time of year because it has plenty of shade, private river access and a space up on the cliff for direct sun and stunning hill country views!
We woke up underneath a canopy of trees and sounds that made me feel as if I were in the middle of the rain forest, hung out by the river and did some fishing, had fun kayaking and basking in the sun throughout the day.
Our stay at Aggie Acres was awesome! The land was beautiful; no cactus, hardly any rocks and tall towering trees surrounded us. Our tent was beside what I originally thought was just a tank but turned out to be more like a small lake connecting to a stream. We woke up surrounded by cattle which was pretty awesome! I freakin' love cows. Our dogs were surprised to see them at first but they coexisted well after the initial discovery. We enjoyed hiking around the land and being able to let the dogs roam off leash. The pups were happy to be ranch dogs for the weekend! Gathering our own firewood from the land was fun! My husband even caught and released two fish in the lake! I would definitely recommend Aggie Acres!
