My dog and I had a blast camping here midweek. We literally had the entire reservoir to ourselves! My dog loved swimming and we hiked the loop a couple times, checking out each of the campsites and other swimming spots. In the afternoon while he napped, I took advantage of the inter tubes and kayaks and explored the reservoir. The hike in is very easy and I definitely think a heavy duty wagon would make it even easier. It was my first camping trip alone and I felt very safe. The cannon ball camp stays shadier in the morning than the other sites, so if you’re like to sleep a bit later than the sunrise, I would recommend that site. Everything was very clean and peaceful and I can’t wait to come back!
We spent the most restful couple of days at Muir’s Muse. This year, my boyfriend and i decided to avoid all the stress of thanksgiving and celebrate “campsgiving” instead. It was perfect. We spent a lot of time around the campfire. We hiked. And when the weather got bad (it rained while we made our thanksgiving dinner), we were very grateful to be able to get cozy inside the cabin with a heater running and utilizing the camp stove to make hot toddies. The cabin was very comfortable and with the addition of our flannel sheets, the sleeping loft was so cozy and the perfect spot to watch the sunrise and spend some time reading. Muir’s muse was everything I had hoped it would be and we all had a blast (our dog included). While we had hoped for some snow, it seems like we’ll just have to come back and try again!
