What a special place, tended to by lovely folks! The site was gorgeous- a grassy knoll overlooking the river. There was ample firewood, it was secluded from the other sites, and John and Patricia were very kind and most welcoming- coming to greet us, sharing their history with the land they've kept safe from developers. They are dedicated stewards to this small nook of the globe.
With the trail map John had given me, I set out at sunrise to explore the acreage and saw deer and eagles, beautiful wildflowers and old stonewalls. I look forward to our return visits.
Amy's place was quite charming, and very peaceful. While I didn't get the chance to meet Amy who was out of town, I was greeted by the goats and resident cat. About 20 minutes from Conway and the Kanc, the location was super convenient for exploring the area.
