My partner and I went here for just one night on Labor Day weekend and were pleasantly surprised by all of the amenities! Great site (no. 3)- not super secluded but still really lovely, the toilet was very cool, and the shower was a little finicky but not such a big deal when you're out there/swimming at the Yuba during the day. Very clean, very organized, and the perfect spot to stay to explore Nevada City and the Yuba River, which is my favorite place in all of California! We would absolutely go back for a longer weekend and do more camping- cooking, chilling, etc. instead of using it as just a sleeping spot.
this was one of the most glorious weekends- it was perfectly set up for equal parts activity and relaxation. the yuba river is a magical place and alicia has set up these cabins to take full advantage of the natural amenities and features of the area. the beds were extremely cozy, the kitchenette and BBQ was all we needed to prepare our meals, and the private river access was just such a treat. we are eager to return and stay for even longer next time, if she will have us! :)
Our group of 8 stayed at campsite #2 for a night but had to cut the trip short because it was raining so much that all of our gear/food/bodies got so wet on the first morning that it wasn't going to be possible to dry off and wait it out to see if the rain was going to stop. The land itself is gorgeous and would have been heaven on a dry or sunny day- big open field to run around in, nice fire pit, easy stream access, and plenty of room for as many tents as you'd like, both within the redwoods and in the open field. We hope to come back here again soon so we can really take advantage of all the site had to offer! Also, we had one Subaru Outback that was totally fine getting up and down the road to get to the campsite. The other two small sedans were left up top and we shuttled stuff back and forth, with Lesley's help.
