Japanese Cabin
in Big Quiet Cowboy Camping, WyomingPeaceful big sky // ideal for 2
Peaceful and quiet with a true Big Sky view. Rod makes you feel very welcome and feeds you well if you avail yourself of his hearty cowboy breakfastâyummy pancakes, organic sausage patties, and thicker-than-a-French-Press cowboy coffee. The Japanese Cabin is the perfect size for a couple, complete with soaking tub, sauna, and kitchen. Watch the views from the large windows on two sides of the cabin or sit on the deck. The three dogs are friendly and love to play fetch too.
Treehouse at Swallowtail Studio
in Swallowtail Historic Art Studio, CaliforniaThe treehouse was super cozy. Bill and Michelle are amazing hosts. So much fun talking with them over breakfast they provide. Great location - 10 minutes from the town of Petaluma (a bunch of other towns are 20-30 minutes away too), 10 minutes from the rolling hills of the countryside. (Note: There are 2 treehouses. I thought I was booking the other one. Pay attention to which one you are booking. The key differentiators: one has a loft bed, the other has french doors and a bed on the floor of the treehouse.)
#4 - Big Meadow, Power & Water
in Jug Handle Creek Farm, CaliforniaMendocino County is one of my favorite places to soak in nature's beauty. Jug Handle Creek Farm is super easy to find - it's right off Highway 1 - your eye catches sight of the cute red farmhouse on the hillside. At night you are rocked to sleep by the sound of waves from the ocean, which is on the other side of the highway (you don't really hear any road noise). The campsites are spacious so there's plenty of privacy. The check in process was a breeze.
