41 year old super dude taking an extended road trip through the SW. Missoula was 0F when I left, aiming to spend some time where shorts and chacos are more accomodating. I'm into reading, birds, staring off into space and yoga (sometimes).
I'll echo the other reviews here, this place is an outright gem. Truly beautiful property in the Sierra foothills with lots of animals both wild and domestic to see. The A-frames are simple but cozy, no complaints here. The bathhouse was immaculately clean. Internet in one of the A-frames closest to the bathhouse will provide the fastest connection, I was getting 3-4mbps. Also no verizon this far off the main road, so turn on call via wifi. Assuming of course you need to connect to the rest of the world for work. If not, take the time to wander around the property. The Yuba river is a short drive and definitely worth seeing. These Quakers have a good thing going on here, strongly encourage anyone to stay when rambling through the Sierras.
Mary has a good thing going on at the ol' Double A Ranch. Everything was as expected as per the description. No issues there. Lots of animals on the property, I even managed to see a coatimundi near the river one morning. Probably the only one I'll ever see. Mary is super responsive to any questions and fun to chat with. I look forward to camping here again when I swing through again later this year.
