This large campsite is nicely situated on a beautiful stretch of river, which offered nice fishing for Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill and Rock Bass. It's a fairly private location, mostly obscured from neighboring sites by trees, brush and downfall. Two new picnic tables provided ample space for us to spread out our gear, and a ring was conveniently provided for our campfire. Hosts Andrey and Natalia were also friendly and accommodating, even offering to let us use one of their kayaks to try our luck fishing downstream. It was also nice to have the Stoney Creek Country Store nearby for any supply needs. Looking for a riverfront campsite that offers privacy and convenience? Give Almost Heaven a try!
This was my second visit to Carp Cove Farm, and it was just as lovely as my first last fall. The site is private and right next to the river, which was great for fishing. I will definitely visit again.
Had a wonderful stay at Carp Cove Farm last weekend. Our host Ralph was super friendly and made sure we got settled into our very private, clean and secure campsite - next to a horse farm and right on the river bank. The site itself featured a picnic table, fire ring and potable water spigot only steps away. We did quite a bit of fishing, as well, steadily catching lots of sunfish, rock bass, small mouth bass and creek chub. All in all, it was a lovely experience.
This campground takes reservations six months in advance, and the sites sell out FAST! If you even have an inkling that you might want to camp here, mark your calendar and plan ahead. TIP: The bay side camping sites are mosquito havens. Try to stay on the beach side. There are still mosquitoes, but they are less of a problem if the wind is blowing in from the ocean.
