Built my cabin in 2008 and moved in at the end of June. As an interior designer, I loaded it with extras like natural cherry cabinets, granite counter tops, stainless appliances, stack stone fireplace, cozy hand knotted rugs, a sofa big enough for two to nap on, flexible lighting, and breezy ceiling fans.
As a tribute to family, I included poster sketches of my great grandad's best known buildings. He is the iconic American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. And I've included some fun movie posters featuring my mom, the late actress, Anne Baxter.
My place is great for one or six and you can cook up a storm with the grill and fully stocked kitchen, or dine out at any one of two dozen divine dining options just 10-15 minutes drive away. There are waterfalls, incredible hikes, sunset rock epic views, endless picnicking possibilities, fishing, and a whole lot more, all just outside the front door.
And when you want to stay in, you've got a cozy fireplace, the perfect place to curl up in conversation, read a favorite book, or indulge in some TV entertainment. Highlands has a movie theatre and a couple of playhouses with excellent productions, if you are culturally minded. There is also a wonderful museum, library and botanical gardens.
I've got you covered with a full portfolio of local restaurant menus on the counter, hiking guides, and activity brochures, and of course you can Google it all on complimentary WiFi. Yu can enjoy a home made cup of coffee in the morning or head into town and grab a gourmet breakfast biscuit for full on American breakfast at Market Fresh, no shortage of foodie options and shopping delights nestled in the prettiest place in the world, the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Happy to provide reviews if desired, I've over 41 on hand, and there is a guest book that is full in the house. Just new to Hipcamp, so you may be the first! Get in touch, I'd love to book a once-in-a-lifetime stay for you and family or friends.
