Our stay at the Retreat was everything we had hoped for. The hike in is beautiful and very clearly marked, and we arrived to find the cabin immaculately clean, with a cozy fire waiting for us in the wood stove. We spent a really great weekend snowshoeing in the Paddock State Wildlife area, and warming up inside with movies and games. The cabin has everything you could want for a cozy getaway- maps of the nearby hiking trails, hot running water, wifi and Netflix, and an extensive game library. Our Host kept us stocked up on firewood and drinking water, and gave us great tips on where to hike for views of Colorado's highest peaks, and where to get a delicious breakfast in Leadville on our way out (check out the Silver Llama!) There are incredible views of Mount Hope off the back porch, and with clear night skies there was great stargazing. We can't wait to come back next year!
We really loved our stay here - it was the perfect spot for our trip to Joshua Tree - just 20 minutes from the park entrance! This is one of the most secluded and private Hipcamps we've stayed at - there are 4 sites up on a hilltop, with nothing around but great views! There are no houses or other people in sight, and the views of the surrounding area are really beautiful. Each campsite has everything you need - charcoal grill, firepit, picnic table and plenty of flat areas to pitch a tent. The common areas at Skycamp are also really great - lots of seating, cooking and heating options, and a really unique swing! Your Host, Kimberly, is super responsive and has thought of everything to make your camping trip great. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer - we'd really like to come back with friends and spend a few days.
We had a really wonderful weekend here - I genuinely loved everything about our trip, from the beautiful drive down the coast and the amazing location of the camp, to the cozy cabins, group campfires, and learning about the history of the property. The camp is incredible, and has everything you could want for a vacation - pool, tennis courts, outdoor games, hiking, stargazing and more! It's also very dog friendly - our group had several pups, and they all had a great time exploring! Jim is an incredible Host, and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. The directions were super easy to follow, and everything on the property is well marked and easy to find. We can't recommend it enough - it's perfect for group trips, family reunions, or even just a fun weekend away from the city.
The few days we spent at Paradise Shores were perfect in every way! The camp itself is impeccably clean (nicest bathrooms I've ever seen in a campground, with complimentary lotion, cotton balls, razors etc.) It was also picturesque, quiet, and in a great location on the reservoir,
not too far from town. We camped right next to the water, in a perfect spot near the communal kitchen and firepit. Our group loved cooking in the kitchen, hanging out around the campfire, and exploring down near the reservoir (kayaks and paddle boards available!) Early mornings here are incredible - I recommend getting up early to take advantage of the sunrise! We explored the nearby ghost town of Bodie, and you can't miss a trip to Travertine Hot Springs, which are a very short drive from camp. All in all, I can't wait for next summer, when I'll definitely be back, hopefully to stay for longer!
Everything about our stay in the Gypsy Caravan was absolutely perfect - from the cozy interior to the beautiful outdoor shower and the friendly cat, we loved every second! The caravan is very private, and was the perfect place to spend a rainy night. It was perfectly clean, and had everything we could need, including towels, tea and coffee, fresh fruit and even a fridge! We would definitely come back! Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer.
Our weekend in the treehouse was perfection. We loved waking up to beautiful views of the trees, enjoying a delicious breakfast (delivered right to our door!) and hanging out by the creek. The treehouse is extremely private - you can't see or hear any other campsites or cabins from its location, and it is right above the creek, with easy access down to a rocky beach that's perfect for relaxing and reading a book. It truly feels like you're alone in the middle of the woods (but with the added benefit of a bathroom and grill nearby!) We really enjoyed meeting Joe and grabbing a bite to eat by the pool (we also ended up meeting quite a few very friendly pool-goers who stopped to pet our dog, which was great!)
Joe and Melissa have truly thought of everything - the treehouse has a breakfast bar with stools, water jug and cups, as well as a charging block, electric candles, a full set of towels and soap! The breakfast came very highly recommended, and was amazing (thanks Melissa!) Don't miss it when you stay! The resort itself is where all of your summer camp dreams come true - cute cabins, big swimming pool, ice cream sandwiches on order and plenty of space to explore. It's also very dog friendly - all dogs we saw were very well-behaved and on leashes, and our pup loved splashing around in the creek.
Over all, this was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable weekends we've had in a long time. We genuinely can't recommend it highly enough, and can't wait to come back!
WildTender is a truly magical place! It was the perfect environment to escape from the city and enjoy some peaceful time in nature. The campsites are incredibly clean and well-cared for, and the views are unbeatable. Our group had a great time doing yoga in the dome, making s'mores around the campfire, and meeting the friendly ranch pups! One of the best parts of our stay was getting to meet Montrese and Anders, whose love and respect for the land, as well as the immense work they do as stewards is truly inspiring. I can't wait to come back!
We had an incredible time staying in the barn. We made s'mores outside at the fire pit and enjoyed the stars. The property is extremely quiet and private, despite being so close to town. We really loved meeting Roger and Penny (very friendly dog!) The barn is great - very beautiful and a great spot for photos! There's plenty of space to picnic and lots of interesting things to explore! We brought a few air mattresses to set up downstairs, and 2 people in the queen bed in the loft.
There's a ton to do in the area - We took Chris' advice to check out several restaurants in Sonoma (a 5 minute drive,) and spent the 4th of July doing wine tasting at the nearby vineyards. Downtown Sonoma is a 5 minute drive, and has lots of good places to eat and great local shops. We enjoyed the 4th of July parade, and the incredible fireworks show! We can't recommend it highly enough!
