Past trip
in Sunset Bay Meadows, OregonAmazing week at sunset bay meadows
I booked out all of Sunset Bay Meadows for a small group of friends to camp at for a week. We had the most amazing time on this property and couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay. I searched hip camp far and wide to find property that would work for a group, and Sunset Bay Meadows hit it out of the park! Loud music is not an issue, as you are completely surrounded by trees and far from any neighbors.
The clearing to setup camp is actually a lot bigger than it looks in the photos, with lots of different private nooks to setup tents and hangout areas. You are surrounded by hundreds of private acres to explore, and only a mile-ish walk from the coast.
A few additional things to note: The portos are conveniently located in the main camping area, and the showers are just a 5 minute walk (or 1 minute drive) back down the private road. There is no cell service out there, but you can find reception closer to Charleston. It can get windy at times, so make sure to pack something warm.
Thank you Tim for letting us spend time on this beautiful piece of property!
Past trip
in Waipi'o Lodge, HawaiiThe Waipi'o Hostel was a great spot to camp! It is located a 5 minute drive from the Waipio lookout and 15 minutes from Honokaa. If you stay in a tent, you still get access to the hostel's bathroom, living room and outdoor kitchen. The hosts were very accommodating and supplied us with all of the camping gear for a small fee.
I highly recommend staying here if you find yourself near Waipio Valley!

Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
