Intro: I love camping and I also love riding motorcycles so I often combine the two! I live in Philadelphia but grew up in the woods of Massachusetts so often need to escape back into nature to keep myself steady. <3
Diana is a wonderful host and this was a wonderful site to camp in away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world. True primitive camping but with small amenities such as an outdoor shower, a composting toilet and firewood. Diana keeps a small flock of chickens who provided me with breakfast eggs and more than a few giggles. I absolutely recommend renting a kayak from Diana and exploring the nearby Chesapeake Bay by water. Total serentity!
This was our first time using HipCamp and I feel like we've been spoiled! Susan's site along the Little Schuylkill is beautiful and feels like it's own little world. The tulip poplars that grow along the river and gorgeously tall and we even saw a bald eagle and a blue heron flying down the river during our stay. Susan is a fantastic host and provided us with drinking water and necessities like plates that we had absolutely forgotten to bring. We were even able to purchase fresh eggs from her granddaughter. This site is pure magic and I hope to come back in the Spring or Fall when the weather is a bit cooler. It's also close to a lot of things to do on a day trip like hiking Hawk Mountain Sanctuary or a visit the Yuengling Brewery (America's oldest brewery) in Pottsville. Thank you so much Susan!!!!
