Intro: My passion is bird watching. We live right at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary on 20 acres that are mostly naturalized to attract birds. My husband Howard is an AT and PCT thru hiker. We are hosting campers because there is no place nearby to camp. Welcome!

Our property sits on Hawk Mountain Rd, less than a mile from the Appalachian Trail and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Our house is secluded at 1/4 mile off the road up a long driveway. We back up to State Game lands on 2 sides. We see a variety of wildlife here, including fabulous birds, multitudes of deer, raccoons, skunks, possums, occasional black bears and snakes including rattlesnakes (though it has been years since we saw a rattler). We value and honor all critters, and will insist that you keep all food stored in your car or the bathroom, including toothpaste, gum, candy etc. You don't want unwelcome visitors in the night. We will help you remove any visitors including snakes that you might see.
We have been welcoming airbnb guests for several years, but since we both hike and camp, we have wanted to host campers as well, and finally finished a bathroom with a toilet and hot and cold running water. A solar shower is in the works but not yet ready.
Our property is dedicated to the birds, with most of the 20 acres naturalized for wildlife. There are garden beds around the house and a big fenced vegetable garden out back. The raspberries have been spreading, so if you came during berry season, you can pick some of your own!
The campsite possibilities are numerous, most on flat mown lawn way behind the house and out of view, but we are also developing a few in the woods. We could accommodate larger groups, but please remember that 3 families live back here and we value our peace and quiet.
